Lesson 1. Your average business person does not care about AI
Some background first. AI is cool and building has been fun, but if I can't make money doing this then what is the point of spending all the hours on it. Hence, I found Rymac and joined this group. The thing is, I have been stuck for a while on what to actually sell. Like a lot of you I can build a bunch of stuff with AI at this point, and that turned out to be the problem, because "I can build a bunch of stuff" is not an offer and nobody knows what to do with it. So I started calling people. Old contacts, mostly real estate agents. The plan was that I would help them with AI. Train them up, show them how to get their marketing together, teach them to use the tools properly. Save them a bunch of time and help them make more money. That is not what happened. They don't care. Not skeptical, just not interested. Most of them think AI makes slop, because bad output is the only output they have ever seen. They have no idea what it can actually do, and nobody has ever sat down and shown them. Hell, half of them have access to tools for free and they don't use them. And if you try to explain it, you lose them. About two sentences in and you are talking to a deer in headlights. So I stopped explaining. I am moving toward doing it for them instead, as a done for you service. Everything else in this series came out of that turn.

@Darren Soares Yep, the done for you crowd is the bigger one imo. Then the problem becomes they will not be invested enough to follow the new paradigm, and revert back to their old ways. To me client buy in for this type of structure is key.
Introduce Yourself Below (Please & Thank You)
Yo! Drop your intro below. Where you're from and what whiz-bang(s) you have...or want to build, or don't have. Everyone is in different stages of life, business, etc. I'd like to get to know you. You will come to find out that I really enjoy hearing what you're up too. I'm always fascinated with the things humans can do and I want to know more about you Last question: Can you can triple stamp a double stamp?

Howdy, my name is Jim. I have been in the consulting/software developer game for about 13 years. I am currently head down on a couple projects for some real world businesses so trading my time for money. They are good projects so I am getting some good experience on some real world solutions. As I work these I am looking at how I can make them generic solutions that just get customized for the next client. My first consulting company I worked for took over a whole industry this way. I do make YouTube videos that have gotten less cringe over time on topics as I learn them. I currently am seeing my lane as a Senior Dev/Architect in the room that helps people build robust production ready systems. I come from an industry with that has to be secure and protect PII. The AI will build what you ask it, but if you do not know the right questions to ask you will get a good prototype. I am working on a room/place to bring together builders and offer design help and reviews. At least that is the current best thoughts on the high ticket offer. My best current client utilizes me in this way. Happy to meet yall, even tho most came from Clief notes I assume :P

13 years shipping production software. I build with AI weekly for real clients, and I care most about the questions the AI never volunteers.
