The Horrendous weight gain
Struggling with weight gain 😫 changed my diet to the Mediterranean Diet and joined the gym and instead of losing weight I'm gaining more. It's really getting to me. Is anyone else having the same problem?

I gained 45 pounds in less than 1 year and have NEVER had weight issues. I don't eat much-some days nothing at all but gain weight regardless. I have a closet FULL of clothes I can't wear and no matter how much I work out or diet, nothing works. So depressing and frustrating.šŸ˜”
Not Sure Where to Start…
Hello! I am 45 and have been struggling for over 6+ years to find answers in how to live in my body and not feel sick and tired every single day of my life. I have PCOS, PMDD, and ADHD… basically ALL the letters that make my hormones dictate how I feel in my body. I have gone to countless doctors including hormone ā€œspecialists,ā€ endocrinologists, PCPs, etc.., etc.. with either worsened symptoms or no results at all. I’ve tried what seems like every cream, pellet, bio identical hormone available. My doctor's have me on anti-depressants, anti-anxiety, and ADHD medications just to make it through each day. My most recent attempts at regulating my hormones was a troche (testosterone, estrogen, & progesterone mix), which made me feel crazy and I got so bad I had thoughts of just not living (that was last summer). Then a few months ago my OB/Gyn started me on 100mg then 200mg of Prometrium before bed. The lower dose helped with my insomnia and night sweats most nights, but otherwise there was no improvement to any of my other symptoms. The increased dose made me feel suicidal, so I just stopped it all together. I think I might have a progesterone sensitivity or intolerance. Now I am just back to feeling like a prisoner in my own body. I’m not sure where to go from here…but I can not continue to live like this for much longer. I had a uterine ablation so I don’t have a period, but I can still tell the fluctuation in my cycle. Any thoughts on where I go from here…?

Our stories sound very similar-I am going this Friday to my "last hope" appointment with the only hormone specialist near me that accepts insurance (I am not able to self pay due to not being able to work any longer) so fingers crossed I get answers and can share. I also have a large ovarian cyst and 2 tumors in my uterus that my OB just wants to "watch" until next year at my annual checkup-which has my whole world flipped thinking I am going to die of cancer. I have had the Nova sure ablation (10 yesterday ago) so no periods and took me begging my GP to even do bloodwork to finally get diagnosed that I am not "crazy" but in perimenopause. Hugs and prayers you find answers/help soon!

And when we have ADHD it just seems that doctors dismiss the fact that with those hormone issues on top of the peri adding another layer and different set of problems with our brains....in my experience so far...they just basically gave me the "look" and tell me they can't help me. It is scary and miserable just existing right now and then the people that you are taught are there to help won't/can't.......it is just too overwhelming ā¤ļøšŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

Just a short introduction-I am a 45 year old mom, grandmother (he is 2), daughter/caregiver to parents, wife, and struggling with all of the "new" normals that come along with hormone changes during this season of life. I am from Alabama and currently unable to work for the first time in life (have worked since I was 15 yrs old) because of the issues that have been brought into my world by perimenopause stacked on top of my ADHD and Chronic pain issues. I am just a simple person that loves helping others and have always tried to bring love and kindness to our world- happy to find a place like this to help each other going through this time in our lives and know we aren't alone.
