I took the quiz twice. The first photo is when I am fully listening to myself and what I trust will help Row be his whole self. The other is on days where all my own programming from being in schools and defining what learning is gets to me. It's like living in my old world and my new one at the same time 💗

@Vickie Lintz I appreciate you sharing this! We are just now getting A LOT of questions about school from friends and family and it's really interesting to feel my reactions. Your point about so much of what we culturally celebrate is related to school accomplishments (at least from a extended family perspective) is tricky and makes me really contiplate how we need to model celebrate our kids in different ways.

Hoping in here! My name is Jessica and I am unschooling my sweet 4 year old Rowan. I have spent almost all of my young adult life working in schools from americorp to most recently being a school counselor for 4 years. The irony is I love schools, love teacher and really love helping kids learn but after so many rolls I realized the system itself is not meant for our kids to be free, to follow their intuition, and grow their unique skills in a way that maintained true creativity. It also teaches them friendship/community by proximity and age not by intentional connection and maintain of relationships through love and effort. I fully understand why people send their kids to school (work schedules/capitalist system/ it's the "norm") and have waivered back and forth even before Row was born on what would be best for him. But my deepest feeling is that we can watch our kids grow through actual life and I just can't accept the programming as it is (as you spoke about @Vivian Padilla ). I'm so grateful and excited to be here!

@Kate Torres I love the idea of schools being a living organisum of community and am thankful to have another person with education background here. It seems like such a contradiction sometimes 🫠I will check out Pams podcast 🤗
