We always tell our clients who have To sit a lot for work to set a timer to go off every hour & get off their buns to move. 1-2 minute break to get water, go to bathroom, some mobility reaches or whatever feels good. I like to therapy bands idea to activate muscles too!
You’re Not Broken
Sometimes you do a lot of the “right things” and your body still aches, creeks and hurts. When your body has a foundation & builds upon it to integrate into LIFE, you start feeling better!

It’s all about the foundation first, otherwise all the “good things” fall short of their potential & we get unwanted results & circumstances😬

What Does “Fitness” Mean To You?
Activity Pyramid - combine with Food Pyramid and we're set!
You know the food pyramid, right? Did you know there's an activity pyramid? So much better than a checklist or to-do list. You can see exactly what activities count and how often. No guesswork. And it got me thinking... this is why homemakers and housewives of the pre-internet generation were fit. Vacuuming, washing windows, mowing the lawn, tending the garden — that wasn't exercise, that was just life. Built-in daily movement without a second thought. Combine the activity pyramid with the food pyramid and we've got a back-to-basics wellness foundation that actually makes sense. Simple. Visual. No app required. Check it out and tell me what you think. 💛

Like this idea of differentiating types of Body Movement. Not all movement is “exercise for fitness”, but it blesses the body in different ways. Bottom line: MOVE here/there during the days in any way, shape or form. Tracking steps is a great feedback tool.
Wellness Trends: My Nutrition Take 👀
There’s always a new “must-do” in the wellness world. From intermittent fasting to juice cleanses to calorie counting — it can get overwhelming fast. Here’s what I look at through a nutrition lens: • Protein-forward meals? Non-negotiable. Stabilizes energy, reduces cravings, supports muscle, and keeps blood sugar steady. • Juice cleanses? Not sustainable. Most people need balanced meals, not liquid resets. • Calorie counting? Often drains mental energy and disconnects people from their hunger cues. Quality > quantity. • Intermittent fasting? Can be useful for some, but not a requirement — especially for women whose hormones and stress load need thoughtful implementation. Instead of chasing trends, I encourage clients to ask: 👉 Does this support steady energy?👉 Is this sustainable in real life?👉 Does this improve my relationship with food? Nutrition doesn’t need to be extreme to be effective. Which nutrition trend have you personally tried — and did it actually work for you long term?

I’ve tried a more “intuitive” intermittent fasting after listening to a podcast of Dr. Mindy Pelz 3 years ago. At the time it helped break my cycle of eating late after getting home from our girls’ soccer practice. And my morning belly bloat & slow a.m. energy improved! I now intermittent fast 14-15 hrs, 2-3 days/week; I feel less inflamed & leaner when I do.
