Today was such an inspiring meeting. I've been thinking about Integrity, trust, and imposter syndrome. Why is it that we often get stalled in our own progress or feel like fakes. I pondered that our inability to trust ourselves with the commitments we make to ourselves promotes imposter syndrome–that space where you're always telling other people what to do when you haven't/aren't taking the advice you give to others. Just a thought.

First thought: It's freakin' fantastic. Bravo for getting it done, and also for showing the rest of us what's possible through your amazing effort. My thoughts: I felt a bit chastised at times for what I didn't know. Sandi, you and I are straight shooters. Sometimes I have to remind myself that the straight-shooter voice I use to speak to a crowd whose gaze is fixed on me in a live presentation, when they can see how much I care and want them to win in person, doesn't always translate the same way in writing, and it can feel like scolding instead of solutions that the attendee can take action on to get a win. I thought it could use some subtle storytelling around the examples that hit home but don't make me feel like an idiot. For instance seeing yourself in the orange shirts reference when you recall, 'I did suggest everyone where orange shirts on September 30th.' Also, I wonder if you might number the actions 1, 2, 3. On one of the questions it gave me 5 responses. I think that's too much. Don't give away the farm or overwhelm me with too many choices. When I was asked to write an article for a woman's magazine, I gave them 10 things to do. It was too much. People's eyes glaze other and they do nothing because they don't know where to begin, nor do they know the correct order to do them in. Question: What’s the most common mistake organizations make with Indigenous inclusion efforts? Answer: Ah, the most common mistake? Performative actions that look good but change nothing. Orange shirts on September 30th, or giving everyone the day off without fixing policies or safe spaces. We see it, and it screams you don't care. Organizations think a small gesture gets them to reconciliation. Hard pass. It's tokenism – like buying a feather to look good without giving real power or support. Or lumping us into "marginalized" groups, expecting one hire to fix everything for BIPOC. Our histories aren't the same; that's double speak that silences us. Truth is, you chase stats – better engagement numbers for the board – without changing your structures or asking what we need. No humility, no listening. We prefer friends first, not sales pitches.

@Sandi Boucher my favorite custom AI is Jefferson Fisher. He wrote the book, 'The Next Conversation'. What I like about his GPT are the small bites of digestible, actions that I can implement straight away, and the 1, 2, 3 I'm out. https://chatgpt.com/share/696ec3de-2fe8-8002-85ac-cb4678541a7f

Life ...
The presents are wrapped. The books are being read. The sighs of contentment are being savoured. The Christmas tree is being enjoyed. Tis the season ... And this break I am taking is the greatest gift of all. Practicing what I preach. Taking care of me as I ask others to take care of themselves. The journey continues ... Take care of you, my Speaker Friend! Sandi
