New ad is spitting leads
6 leads in less than 36 hours. Much higher quality leads, too. Shoutout to @Justin Sparks for his advice…I used his exact form fill questions which is helping qualify leads. But I added a notice in the description saying: “This service is NOT cheap! We have a minimum job rate of $2,750. If this is more than you are able to invest in your property, we understand.” I also added an optional “preferred date for onsite assessment” field that has been getting filled out - this is huge for them not ghosting you. We have $8k booked for May, and should have another $20k booked for May before the end of this month. Here is my ad from our marketing blitz day last weekend. I use CapCut to edit, and wireless mic that plugs into the iPhone. The KEY (I think) is to make sure you have a captivating cover image for the video… CapCut helps with this big time and will auto-generate one for you if you want.

Mind sharing all the form fill questions? Are you using a jobber form or FB?

ONX is pretty accurate if you are on the paid version.
1st Real Mulching Job!
I have done work on hunting properties for friends of mine, but this was the first true lead generated from my website through a google search (not paid ads) I completed 2 days this weekend and have one more to go in early October. I think the results are coming out great and the customer is very happy with the results so far.

@Christopher Fortier Thank you!
Diesel Price Fluctuations
How are you guys pricing your work with the rise of diesel prices? Are you adding it to your rate and passing it on to the customer or are you eating some of it?

Future quotes will be increased due to it, current quotes will just have less margin due to it. With it being in the news show much, customers know its an issue.
Starting Out Renting Equipment — How Did You Make the Numbers Work?
For those of you who started out renting equipment, did you struggle with this in the beginning? I’m just getting my land clearing business going and currently renting equipment job by job. Right now I’m also relying on the rental company for transportation, which adds enough cost that I really need at least a full day of work to make the numbers work. I’ve had a couple decent leads come in recently, but the jobs were probably only half-day jobs at most. Once I figured in the rental and transportation costs, my price was higher than they were willing to spend. I hate turning down work when I’m trying to get started and build a customer base, but I also don’t want to take jobs just to say I’m busy and end up making little or nothing. Did any of you run into this when you were starting out? Did you focus on finding larger jobs until you could afford your own equipment/transportation, try to stack multiple smaller jobs together, or just accept that some jobs aren’t going to make sense at this stage? Part of me thinks I just haven’t found the right clients/jobs to target yet. Interested to hear how some of you navigated that early stage and what you’d do differently if you were starting over.

What type of equipment are you renting? If a CTL with Mulcher I do not know how you make the rates work. In my area is avg about to 2K per day for the machine, and that is if you are renting for the week.
