A solution for hearing loss!
Hey everyone, for ages I am looking for a solution to compensate hearing loss. My hearing loss in my right ear is pretty severe and I always had the idea of coming up with a plugin solution to compensate the hearing loss - at least in the DAW. I never found a good solution and never had time to develop something similar but now HEARS Perfection has been released. When you open the plugin you can start a hearing test and based on the results, it creates a frequency compensation curve for you. It obviously does not replace a full blown scientifically done hearing test but it gets sort of close. If you are interested, I attached the video here. If you are a subscriber of the Plugin Alliance subscription, you get it for free.

Thanks Alex, that could come in really handy. I've got high frequency hearing loss, likely due to tinnitus, and I always worry I'm making hihats too loud. Will give that a try!

@Zach Broberg I've never really considered that, but now you mention it, when I'm working on my modular synth, I'll often patch a sound or sequence which sounds fine to me, but when I bring it into the DAW, it's rarely actually in tune. I've always put this down to a quirk of modular synths, but it could be I'm hearing it wrong? Very interesting!

Can ChatGPT create a usable Cubase template?
Thought I'd see what ChatGPT comes up with as a recommendation for what to include in a Cubase trailer template and how to structure it. I wasn't expecting it to offer to build a template for me though, and provide a PDF walkthrough to accompany it! I shared with it, some of the libraries I was thinking of using and it even came up with a 3-act structure suggesting which sounds to use in each part. The only negative is that the template won't be ready for 24 hours, but I'm really intrigued to see what it comes up with, and how useful it actually is. I can see a scenario in the not too distant future where AI takes care of keeping the template up to date, so when I purchase a new library / plugin the sounds are just available and already incorporated in a version of the template. As much as there is understandable fear around AI taking over the creative process, I do like the idea of it simplifying the more administrative tasks, leaving me more time to actually create.

@Dave Graham Just in case it wasn't clear, I didn't ask AI to build me a template, it offered and as I've now learnt, lied because it can't even do that 😄 I'm certainly not waiting for it to (not) build me a template, and actually, I don't generally use them either! Was just intrigued and having a play.

Hey everyone! Time to finally upgrade my chair — or well, actually get one 😅 My old one didn’t fit in the moving truck, so I’ve been sitting on a wooden stool lately... and I'm still waiting for my new composer table that I ordered some weeks ago... and acoustic panels. I'd love to hear what chairs you're happy (or not happy) with. Please share your experience — really appreciate it! I found a brand called Hinomi, but reviews seem mixed. It’s so hard to trust online brands, and there are no office furniture shops in my town to try anything in person. Thanks so much in advance for any insight 🙏 Hugs, Migova 💗 https://eu.hinomi.co/es/products/hinomi-h1-pro-silla-de-oficina-ergonomica?variant=48164576264494

I have that exact Hinomi chair and can vouch for it, it's excellent. I particularly like that the arm rests can be tucked out of the way for those rare occasions I fancy playing guitar or bass. And the lumber support works really well too.

@Aleksandria Migova Hi there - Sorry for not replying sooner, life got kind of busy 🙂 Anyway, this video shows how the reclining works which I think might be what you are looking for? It's definitely the most flexible chair I've owned, and with the leg extensions (demonstrated later in the video), you can even lie down in it 😴

@Felix Teske Welcome! I too started with trackers, in my case TCB tracker on the Atari ST back in 1991 before I owned any hardware - could still cobble together a decent tune even back then, despite the limitations, and have been hooked ever since!
