Updating Blogs
So I am really all over the place when it comes to my website by I need to focus so I am going to focus on updating or deleting some old blogs. Also, I used an AI builder in word press a little while ago and didn’t like but it wrote blogs for me so I need to go through those because it may be making my website confusing. That’s what I want to get accomplished this week.

@Whitney Wisner Ouch. That makes it really difficult. Who is hosting your site? When I wanted to overhaul my website, my host created a staging site so I could build it from scratch without the search engines crawling it till I was done. Or people stumbling on broken connections. But a host costs money. So if you are using a free platform, they may not be a possibility.

@Whitney Wisner I am not sure what your long-term plan is for your website, but I know that if you are planning to build a more robust site and side-hustle, you may want to consider your options for hosting. Just out of curiosity, I asked ChatGPT to give feedback on site hosting and here is what it gave me. I don't know your budget, or your future plans but thought I would share it, just in case, before you dedicate more time building a site where you currently are. 1. Free Hosting Options - InfinityFree – free, supports PHP & MySQL, no ads. - AwardSpace – free plan with 1 GB storage and CMS installer. - FreeHosting.com – lifetime free plan with 10 GB disk. - Neocities – great for static sites. - Wix (free plan) – includes hosting + drag-and-drop builder, but branding is forced. ⚠️ Downsides: slower, less reliable, restrictions on bandwidth/storage, possible ads or branding. Fine for testing, learning, or very small sites. 2. Low-Cost Paid Hosting (beginner-friendly) - Hostinger – very cheap starter plans, good value. - Bluehost – WordPress-friendly, easy for beginners. - SiteGround – great support and reliability, a bit more expensive. - DreamHost / InMotion / GreenGeeks – other solid budget-friendly options. 💡 Paid is better for serious sites: faster, safer, reliable support, includes email and SSL. 3. Domain vs Hosting - CheapName → mainly a domain registrar (buy a web address). Not a hosting provider. - Namecheap EasyWP → managed WordPress hosting (cheap, beginner-friendly). Not free forever, but much easier than DIY setups. 4. Best Combos for Someone Starting Out - Absolute free: Free hosting (InfinityFree / Wix free plan) + free subdomain (no custom domain). - Ultra low-cost: Cheap domain (Cloudflare, NameSilo, Namecheap) + free host (InfinityFree, Neocities). - Best balance: Managed WordPress hosting (EasyWP or Hostinger) + custom domain (~$10–$15/yr).

I just overhauled my website, janetfsalazar.com, and I am trying to implement good SEO on my website and in my blogs. I am a Christian author and speaker, and I will also post blogs on my website to help with spiritual growth, bible study, and recommendations for books. I see the value of SEO but I find it challenging to implement it within my niche as a Christian writer and speaker. I do have a book coming out soon that I will want to leverage sales with good SEO. I want to also "advertise" my speaking however, in the Christian niche, I have to be very careful to not overdue this because it looks like I am promoting myself rather than God or my message. Also, the tips on writing blogs that are SEO optimized using AI are great, but I am struggling to apply it well to my niche since Spiritual Growth and Bible study are not the same as products or other how-tos. I have started using AI to help me optimize my blog posts after I write them which has improved their SEO significantly. But I am still trying to find the right balance. So what I am working on right now is simply getting my website to be SEO optimized to the best of my ability. I am starting by using the SEO Wallet extension to look at each page and see if I can improve the outline so it is SEO friendly.

@Nicolas Gorrono Thank you so very much for taking the time to look at my site again. I really, really appreciate it. I do get what you are saying. Perhaps some of my reticence also comes from the fact that I am not a saleswoman :). But I understand what you are saying and I agree, I have to rethink my headers. In truth, the way that I have them set up right now, I think it is slowing down my website anyway. I thought I would have heart failure when the site wasn't working for you at all. LOL. Again, I really appreciate the feedback. It is so helpful! I don't know if I need to post a new status, but I think this will be my new focus for my SEO journey, redesign my header.

Thanks for the breakdown of the SEO course so it is bite size segments and for adding value to the free site. Now that I finished overhauling my website, I'm excited to spend more time here learning how to make SEO fit in my niche of Christian blog posts and speaking.

@Nicolas Gorrono I do apologize for not seeing this earlier. Thank you for taking the time to review my site. I have actually updated or overhauled my website since you looked at it and I am trying to put the right SEO key words in. I do still use the large header with Bible verses. I will have to consider how to improve SEO there as you mentioned. Perhaps adding the button you mentioned. So I will definitely go back and look at how I have it set up now. Again, thank you so much for taking the time to give feedback. However, I was wondering, the SEO wallet that you were using to see keywords, etc. on my page, is that something I can access or is it something that you pay for in your line of business of helping people improve their SEO?
