🌿 The Nature Connection Pyramid: Why It Matters
We all know spending time outdoors feels good — but did you know how often you get outside matters just as much as where you go? That’s the idea behind the Nature Connection Pyramid. It’s a simple framework that shows us how to build a healthy relationship with the natural world: - Daily: Step outside nearby — a walk through your neighborhood, sitting under a tree, tending a garden. - Weekly: Go a little deeper — local parks, rivers, or trails that reset your week. - Monthly: Stretch yourself — regional adventures like camping, kayaking, or a day in the forest. - Annually / Bi-Annually: Big wilderness trips that reconnect you to something larger than yourself. Just like healthy eating or exercise, stacking these layers creates balance and resilience. Daily moments of nature keep us grounded, while those big adventures recharge us on a deeper level. 👉 Over the next few weeks, we’ll dive into each layer of the pyramid together — with challenges, reflections, and ways to bring more wildness into your life. For now, I’d love to hear from you: What’s one way you connect with nature daily?

Daily nature connection: I'm a bicyclist. It opens all sorts of daily adventures and around me is plenty of human and other nature ... instantly I think of the tree-filled road near my house i road through 2 days ago. Im rarely rushed, which means I can pop into alleys or parks that draw my interest.
First Gatherings — Where Are You?
We’ll use this space for meetups, hikes, and calls. Let’s see where everyone is. 👉 Drop your location in the comments. If you see someone nearby, say hello.

I'm in S. Taiwan ... AND I'm from Alfred, NY (deer hunting country). I'm setting up my SKOOL, as a container for collaborative ways. We have LOTS of mountains and hiking here.

After 30 years as a marine community ecologist, forgive me if I see the seaweed in all of us, moving toward health in response to our environment.
