Celebrate National Indoor Plant Week: Bring the Outdoors In ๐ŸŒฟ
Every September, the third week is dedicated to something near and dear to our heartsโ€”National Indoor Plant Week! Itโ€™s the perfect excuse (not that we really need one!) to shower your indoor garden with a little extra love. Whether your home is filled with trailing pothos, flowering orchids, or an herb corner by the window, this week is all about celebrating the joy and health benefits indoor plants bring into our lives. Indoor plants donโ€™t just look goodโ€”they boost mood, clean the air, and even improve focus. Letโ€™s make this week special with some fun and meaningful ways to celebrate! Wipe down dusty leaves, refresh the soil if needed, and trim away any brown edges. Your plants will thank you with fresh growth! ๐Ÿ. If your plant looks cramped or roots are peeking out, treat it to a new, roomier container. Consider a decorative pot that brightens your spaceโ€”itโ€™s a makeover for both your plant and your room. ๐Ÿ‘. Invite friends, neighbors, or fellow community members to trade cuttings. Itโ€™s a fun way to expand your collection without spending a dimeโ€”and to share a little green joy. ๐Ÿ’. ๐‚๐ซ๐ž๐š๐ญ๐ž ๐š ๐Œ๐ข๐ง๐ข ๐ˆ๐ง๐๐จ๐จ๐ซ ๐‰๐ฎ๐ง๐ ๐ฅ๐ž Rearrange your plants into a fresh display. Grouping plants together not only makes a bold statement but also helps them thrive thanks to shared humidity. ๐Ÿ“. ๐’๐ก๐š๐ซ๐ž ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐‹๐จ๐ฏ๐ž ๐Ž๐ง๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐ž Post a photo of your happiest houseplant or your coziest plant nook in our community. National Indoor Plant Week is the perfect time to bring home a new leafy friend. ๐Ÿ•. Take time to read up on your plantโ€™s care needs, or try propagating cuttings to expand your green family. Itโ€™s both fun and rewarding to watch new plants grow from your own. Indoor plants bring more than beauty to our homes. They remind us to slow down, nurture, and appreciate lifeโ€™s small green victories. This week is about pausing to enjoy the companionship of our leafy friends and connecting with others who share the same passion.

@Donna Scarborough thanks, I have two large pots that I need to reuse and they have new potting soil in them already. So I should be able to put 4 seeds per pot.
cantaloupes grow in pots!
Picked and ate my first cantaloupe from my container garden It was delicious. Found two more about the size of baseballs. Hope they grow and ripen as well!
Choosing the Right Watering Can for Your Garden Setup
A watering can might seem like a simple tool, but the right one can make a big difference in how effectivelyโ€”and enjoyablyโ€”you care for your container garden. With so many options out there, itโ€™s worth knowing what to look for to match your unique setup, whether you're tending pots on a patio, balcony, or kitchen windowsill. A good watering can helps you: * Avoid spills and overwatering * Reach tight spots or hanging planters * Maintain gentle, consistent watering (especially for delicate seedlings) * Prevent strain on your hands and wrists ๐Ÿชด ๐… ๐‚๐š๐ฉ๐š๐œ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ * Small gardens/indoor plants: ยฝ to 1 gallon is idealโ€”lightweight and easy to maneuver. * Larger patios or balconies: 1.5 to 2.5 gallons reduces trips back and forth to the tap. ๐Ÿ. ๐’๐ฉ๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ ๐“๐ฒ๐ฉ๐ž * Long spouts: Help reach into hanging baskets or under dense foliage. * Short spouts: Better for quick watering of low, accessible containers. * Shower heads (rose attachments): Provide gentle rain-like wateringโ€”great for seedlings and delicate leaves. ๐Ÿ‘. ๐–๐ž๐ข๐ ๐ก๐ญ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐๐š๐ฅ๐š๐ง๐œ๐ž * A fully filled watering can may be heavier than it looks. Look for one with a comfortable handle and good weight distribution to prevent spills or fatigue. ๐Ÿ’. ๐Œ๐š๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐š๐ฅ * ๐๐ฅ๐š๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐œ: Lightweight and affordable, but can crack if left in the sun. Durable and classic-looking but heavierโ€”especially when full. Eco-friendly options are increasingly available and often quite stylish. ๐Ÿ“. ๐ƒ๐ž๐ฌ๐ข๐ ๐ง ๐ƒ๐ž๐ญ๐š๐ข๐ฅ๐ฌ * Dual handles for better control * Removable shower head for versatility * Slim designs for storing in tight spots * Indoor vs. outdoor aesthetics (some cans are so pretty, they double as decor!) ๐ž๐ฅ๐ฅ๐จ๐ฐ ๐†๐š๐ซ๐๐ž๐ง๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ * Keep two cans if you garden indoors and outdoorsโ€”a small one for houseplants and a larger one for containers outside. * Label a dedicated can for fertilizing so you donโ€™t mix up your regular watering and feeding routines.
