Biggest Struggle
I want this community to be a safe place. In order for that to happen, I have to be vulnerable as well. One of my biggest struggle as a father was accepting that my life was completely changing. I felt like I was losing the “freedom” to do whatever I wanted. Every decision could potentially impact my family and I had a hard time accepting this. Eventually I was able to make my peace with this change as I begin molding new habits and deleting old ones.

@Jordan Huntley the thing I've been faced with recently was a similar question. What's my priority home vs work? Sometimes it feels easier to be a hero at work than at home.

@Jon Cooke Sounds like my CBT group that I attend. We just recently went over the importance of questioning thoughts.
What is everyone doing for fun
Ive had a bit of a strange day today, but one of my highlights was talking to an old friend, who just told me a rubbish joke. Its been ages since I bad joke and it got me thinking what do we all do for a little bit of fun BTW-the joke goes like this "once I read a book about glue.....I could not put it down" Share your bad jokes and what you do for fun

I like to play board games with my kids. And sometimes with other adults.

Happy New Year!
Hobbies
Usually when I’m feel like I’m in a slump for a few days, the biggest that stands out for me is my habits. What habits did I prioritize? Which did I regret? I’ve been seeing a lot of quotes based around the law of attraction. The easiest way to understand the phase of life you’re in is based on what your mind has been attracted to.

My 5 yo come to me this summer requesting quality time. We busted out a 2000 piece puzzle. The table was in the way and it took weeks to finish. I was on my phone less and present with him and others. I like being able to involve family in my hobbies.
Welcome!
Welcome to The Way Forward We’re so glad you’re here. This community was created for young dads to connect, share, and grow together through the challenges and joys of fatherhood. To get started: 1️⃣ Comment below and share how fatherhood has been for you so far. 2️⃣ Invite another dad or friend who could benefit from this space. This is a place built on respect, honesty, and encouragement. Community Rule: No judging others! Everyone’s journey looks different, and that’s what makes this community strong. Let’s keep showing up for ourselves, our kids, and each other. Welcome to The Way Forward.

Happy New Year! Thanks for having me. Fatherhood has been very revealing. Especially as children mirror behaviors, I get annoyed by what they do, but it's what I do.
