🚦 RED LIGHT GREEN LIGHT: Back to Basics
𝗪𝗲'𝗿𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱. The original Red Light Green Light was simple: you've got about ten seconds to grab someone's attention and tell them who you are and what you do. That's it. One line. No warm-up, no explanation, no "let me tell you a little about myself first." This weekend, we're getting really good at that one line. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆: Comment below with ONE line (figure out how to get hyper specific and focused) your name/business + what you do, tight enough to land in ten seconds flat. Not two lines. Not a line and a follow-up sentence. One. Then go give feedback on a few others using the light system: 🔴 Needs work — too vague, doesn't land, missing the hook 🟡 Getting there — good bones, but something's holding it back 🟢 GREEN LIGHT — this is clear, clicky, and ready to go ⚠️𝗢𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝟮+ 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 from other members. Don't jump the gun! Give feedback before you ask for it — the best rounds are the ones where everyone's playing both sides. 🏆 And there's always a winner: whoever gives the most valuable feedback this weekend earns a 24-hour pinned post. You win by helping others. 🏆 Last round's winner: @Aimee Jardon! She showed up big, giving thoughtful, specific feedback to over a dozen different members... proof that this game rewards the people who help others, not just the ones posting their own stuff. That pinned post is all yours this week, Aimee! 🎉 Honorable mentions: @Jenny Rader-Bakos, @Lisa Vanderveen, and @Glenn Summers... y'all brought the heat too. Thank you for show how it's done!👏 Now ... go get that green light!

@Mindy Molein ya that would be valuable. Everyone uses AI but it would be a better audit with humans. And full community audit. I dunno. Very clear.

@Jenny Rader-Bakos Too generalized I think though. If you niche down a bit it would strike me more. I want health and the "helath helpers get seen by people looking for them" is cool, but ya I have a belly, need to exercise more, eat better, not sure. Green light. Health matters.
Did you actually read that book?
Or did you pull the quote off the internet so you'd sound smart in a caption? No judgment. I've done it. I quoted Marcus Aurelius for years before I ever opened Meditations. Same with Sun Tzu. Same with half the "great thinkers" I'd repeat at dinner like I'd earned them. Here's what I finally figured out: I wasn't avoiding those books because they were boring. I was avoiding them because reading them alone is genuinely hard. No deadline. No context. Language older than my house. You get 12 pages in, feel dumb, and quietly shelve it. So I built the fix. The Canon Club — one classic a month, read together. A short guide up front so the old language stops being the barrier. Weekly discussion with people on the same pages as you. And one rule I care about most: zero pretentiousness. "This confused me" is a perfectly good comment. We start August 1st with Meditations — a Roman emperor's private journal about staying calm while everything's on fire. Which, running a business, felt relevant. If you've got a shelf of books you've been "meaning to get to," come get to them with us. 🏛️

I do. I don't quote authors I haven't read but very similarly have profound respect for Plato and Heraclitus and many others I haven't read, Plato because I love Georgis and keep rereading it and Heraclitus cus they burned On Nature and other works by him which I was interested in because of "Fragments" left behind. In fact my fav fiction author left his one novel, a masterpiece, unfinished, because he burned part of it, Dead Souls. I get what you mean though. I read some books and discard them after reading a bit and then feel like they hold a "dark place in my mind" where I "can't" talk about it, simply because I don't know enough. Or read ten pages in, caught wiff of something and left for some clean air. I am not going to read Meditations. I do read classics but ya, like you probably, I've seen him chopped up in memes and I feel I kinda get him a bit. But if you could sell him to me somehow? Why do you want to read him? Here are some hard books I started but "couldn't" finish though: Finnegans Wake I don't even know where to start with this one. I did give it a serious try and then ended up kinda laughing after two pages. It's not regular words and kinda a dialect or made up dielect or soemthing. It's insane. Reminds me of Lewis Carrols poem where he made up every word. The Illiad I love it. But I've only read some of it, heard the stories and bought different versions I didnt' finish. Interestingly a similar book called The Aenid by Virgil had a really good audio book I was listening to now I can't find that. Tractatus Logico I did read all of this but didnt' understand it? Or need some explanation? Or maybe it doesnt' exactly make the best sense? I dont' know....... I could keep going. But I feel like that's a rabbit hole. So, no I didn't actually read that book.
There's a Virus Hitting Everyone's Communities Right Now...
I noticed it right after I got back from vacation... at first I had no clue what was going on. The symptoms were easy to spot... 𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀. And after talking to a few community members... the diagnosis was easy. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝗸. But here's what I figured out that most community builders miss... The Summer Time Blues aren't actually about summer. Your members didn't stop caring about your community. They just woke up this morning thinking about their lives... ☀️ the vacation they just got back from. 🏚️ the new house they're moving into. 😒 the unexpected setback they're still recovering from. 📖 the new chapter they're trying to figure out. Your community members wake up every day thinking about 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗜𝗥 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀! And if you're not meeting them where they are right now... no amount of posting, prompting, or pushing is going to fix it. 𝗦𝗸𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺 is where you'll find the cure for 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲𝘀. The people who join today will know exactly how to keep up the momentum 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻. Those who don't want the cure can tough it out and wait for it to pass... but summer is three months long. That's a long time to deal with the aches and pains of slow growth and very little engagement. 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗸𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆 👉 https://www.skool.com/skool-homeroom-6736/about p.s. The Summer Time Blues don't strike only during the summer, it's something that's happening all the time. The community builders who figure this out now stop chasing momentum and start creating it — no matter what season their members are in. p.p.s. Drop a comment below and tell me... have you noticed any cases of The Summer Time Blues in your community?

Oh I'm all about the blues. Winter, Spring, Fall and Summer. The season of my moods is a different weather than the actual weather. I know some get SAD (seasonal affective disorder) but I'm usually happier in winter and as for the summer, it's a hot one here and I don't do well in heat. My friend is releasing a book tonight tho so i'm going to go to the book release. It's a poetry book called "I Want To Be Buried Standing Up". I haven't read it but it's published and I seen the cover, looks good.
Weekend Traffic Boost!🚦 Red Light, Green Light is back! 🚦
This weekends Redlight Green Light game is brought to you by The Smell of Money! Check out the upcoming Money Breath Call this Monday and join us! Visibility starts with clarity, right?! Before people can find you, click your link, join your community, read your blog, or follow your content, they need to understand what they're looking at. That's exactly what this game is designed to help you do. Two week's ago our Billboard Edition generated some fabulous feedback, and I know quite a few members have been tweaking and updating, so we're bringing it back for a third round this weekend! Submit either: 🟢 Your billboard (graphic) 🟢 Your one-liner (elevator pitch) 🟢 Or both! 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮 𝗼𝗻𝗲-𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝘀? Think one (maybe two) short sentences that make someone want to know more, 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙗𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮'𝙧𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙛𝙪𝙨𝙚𝙙, but because they're curious! And your "billboard" can be: • Your Skool community card • Your website hero graphic • Your YouTube banner • A social media banner • A featured graphic you use to represent your business • Any visual that serves as your first impression If you're submitting a graphic that isn't your community billboard, please include a little context. Let us know where it lives and how people typically see it. For example: "This is my YouTube banner." "This is the hero section on my website." "This is my Skool community banner." That context helps members give more relevant feedback. 💡 If you have a Skool community, now is a great time to get your billboard working in your favor. With Skool continuing to increase visibility opportunities through Facebook, it's only a matter of time before they begin testing traffic from other sources too and your community card may be one of the first things people see before deciding whether to click! Here's how feedback works. Check out the graphics or one-liners below and drop a:

🚦 Red Light, Green Light: Billboard Edition! Let's get ready for the GOOOO!
With Skool making a big Facebook ad push, now is the perfect time to fine-tune what people see when your community shows up. This challenge is open to all community members. This weekend (June 13 & 14), there are 3 ways to play: 🟢 Submit your community billboard (community graphic card) 🟢 Submit your one-liner 🟢 Submit both If you're submitting more than one billboard or more than one one-liner, please put each one in its own comment so people can give focused feedback. Here's how to hand out feedback: Give a 🔴 Red Light: Tell them what isn't working, what's unclear, or what's causing confusion. Give a 🟡 Yellow Light: It's getting close, but something still needs clarity. Share where you're getting stuck or what questions are coming up. Give a 🟢 Green Light: It's working well. It's compelling. It makes you want to click, join, or learn more. 🎉𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱! Once you've received 🟢 𝗧𝗪𝗢 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 🟢 from other members, you can drop one link to your community, website, social profile, or other online space. Your job isn't just posting your billboard or one-liner. The magic of this game is in the feedback. Leave thoughtful, helpful feedback on as many submissions as you can (𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝟯 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀... but why not help as many as you can!?). Tell people what catches your attention, what feels unclear, and what you'd improve if you were seeing it for the first time. 🏆 As always, 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟮𝟰-𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁. The winner will be the person who gives the most thoughtful, helpful, and engaged feedback throughout the thread. Winner will be announced on Monday, June 15th! Let the game begin! Drop your billboard or one-liner below and let's make sure you're in the fast lane before the ads start rolling. 🚗💨
