Yesterday, I lost my dad
I’m still processing it. Still sitting with the weight of it. But yesterday, I also showed up. I showed up for our book club reflection (if you missed it, please watch on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/live/Ht0G-jmPStc?si=nLRxe9gqMGdEOlG1). I even made it to the gym; a new habit I’m trying to build. Not because I felt strong. But because I’m learning what it means to stay anchored… even in difficult moments. And honestly, I don’t think I could have done that without the lessons I am gaining from the books we’ve read this season. There is something powerful about surrounding yourself with the right people. People who are committed to growth. People who read. People who are intentional about building a better life. Books shape how we think. Community reinforces who we become. Right now, I’m leaning on both. If you can, I would really appreciate your prayers. 🤍 And if there’s anything I can encourage you to do today, it’s this: Read. Grow. Keep showing up. Because when life gets hard, and it will, the habits you build and the people you surround yourself with will carry you. Let’s continue to negotiate for the life we want. Together. Pray for me and my family ❤️❤️❤️

This is such an amazing, grounded, transparent, and real reflection. Thank you for sharing and sending all the prayers, healing energy, love and light your way during this time🙏🏽❤️🙏🏽
Consistency
I believe that one of the greatest skills to keep working on is consistency. I consciously and consistently practice consistency. When I fail, I consistently practice it all over again. Consistency doesn’t mean not falling short, it just means not giving up! This week, I have consistently exercised daily except for Sunday which is my rest day. But I haven’t practiced French and Arabic daily as planned. I’m looking forward to being consistent in both my practice of French and Arabic and exercising next week.

Daily update
During our conversation yesterday, @Iwona Laub and @Jada Philips encouraged me to use the support of this community for accountability in achieving my goal of exercising 6 times a week. Here’s a picture of me at the gym this morning.

Yas!!! Let’s go Gloria! So proud of you🙌🏽 As you see I completely forgot my message for you last night (your morning) even when I said as soon as I get going, snap a shot on the elliptical for Gloria 🤣🤦🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️. Got on and got lost in a book. I’ll try again tonight🙏🏽
Reflections from week 1(Atomic Habits)
Jada and I reflected on my experience living in a war zone and also vulnerably shared the habits we are working on this month. The link to our discussion is below. Let me know your thoughts about the war in Iran and the habit you will be working on this month.

@Ejiro Williams Thank you for joining live, Ejiro! Gloria has been guiding us through the book in weekly sections with reflection prompts. This past week we did an overview of the introduction and chapters 1–5, and next week we’ll continue into the next section of the book focusing on motivation and how to make habits more attractive.

@Mimi beatrice Ohene-dokyi YAS! Thank you for sharing this all so thoughtfully ❤️ I really like how clearly you broke the habit down step by step like the book discusses. The reminder ‘future me will thank present me for acting now’ is such a powerful way to build momentum with small actions. I love moments where I realized I did something already to set me up and I say to myself, "Hey now, thank you past self for doing this for me." Lol. I am looking forward to hearing how it unfolds for you this month!
