15 Min Chinese Chicken - Family FAV!
My daughter asks me to make this literally every week- the best part is, I can throw it together on the spot, even if I am frazzled and unprepared! Perfect for those days where you are wearing too many hats, or you just don't feel like too much prep or cleaning. 15min Chinese Chicken Ingredients: 800 g boneless chicken thighs, sliced 30 ml soy sauce 30 ml oyster sauce or BBQ aminos 30 ml maple or honey (traditionally brown sugar) 30 ml Chinese rice wine 1/2 tsp toasted sesame oil 2 cloves garlic, crushed Freshly ground pepper, to taste 3 spring onions, diced Toasted sesame seeds, to garnish. Gevity Mayo optional ⸻ Method: 1. Marinate the Chicken Place the chicken thigh strips into a large bowl. Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, maple, wine, sesame oil, garlic and black pepper. Mix well until the chicken is evenly coated. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes if you can (up to overnight for deeper flavour). 2. Heat a large non-stick or stainless-steel pan over medium heat. Add the chicken thighs. Cook for 5 minutes until the skin is golden and caramelised. 3. Turn the chicken over and pour the remaining marinade into the pan. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 5-10 minutes, turning the chicken once or twice, until fully cooked and tender, spooning sauce over the chicken until glossy and sticky. 5. Serve- Remove from heat. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds, spring onion and serve hot. ⸻ Serving Suggestions: ⢠Pair with sautéed greens or a fresh Asian-style slaw ⢠Leftovers are excellent cold or reheated for meal prep
