7/18/25: OR Levy, an Israeli hostage held in Hamas captivity 491, told a CNN reporter, Jeremy Diamond, how another hostage had helped him find his “why” to “keep going.” That hostage, who was taken with him, OR Levy, at the same time at the invasion, gave him a reason to live. He told him “As long as you have your why’, you have a ‘how.’” OR Levy later would tattoo that sentence on his left arm. The other hostage was later executed by Hamas. OR’s ‘why’? He had his wife and young toddler son to live for, and to return home to…. OR’s would learn once released that his wife was killed the day of the raids, when her shelter bunker was fired on by Hamas militants. His toddler son survived. OR was reunited with his son, when he was released by Hamas. ( I don’t know if his son was ever held by Hamas. I don’t think he was, because OR says his son keeps asking him, “Why couldn’t you take me with you to the ‘distant place’ with you?” and “Where is my Mom?”) ——- We all can find our “Why.” ————- ——- What is your “WHY????” ———- ———- I have two major Why’s: I train on eldercare management. My two why’s: 1. For my mom’s legacy - I couldn’t protect and save her - though I sure tried - from being killed by her husband . She lived another 17 days after being poisoned. My other major “why”: 1. To protect adult children who survived parental child abuse, from being required by US state courts to do eldercare for his/her abuser. Over 14 US states still have “eldercare abandonment laws.”
