🕊️ FASTING & PRAYER: Unlocking Power in Spirit and Body 🕊️
Fasting and prayer have long stood as powerful spiritual disciplines—practiced by prophets, saints, and truth-seekers across generations. But in today’s world, we often miss the full depth and purpose behind the fast. Let’s break it down.👇 # The Spiritual Benefits of Fasting & Prayer Fasting is not just about abstaining from food—it's about creating space for God. When you deny the flesh, you silence the noise of the world and tune in to the voice of the Spirit. Benefits include: - 🔥 Greater clarity and sensitivity to God's direction - ✝️ A heart posture of repentance, humility, and surrender - 🛡️ Strengthening your spiritual authority and discipline - 🤍 Breakthroughs in areas of spiritual warfare, bondage, and strongholds Remember: Prayer fuels the fast. Without prayer, fasting becomes a diet. When paired together, they become a weapon. # The Physical Benefits of Fasting Modern science is only now catching up with what the ancients knew: - ⚙️ Autophagy – Your body begins to clean out dead and damaged cells - 🔥 Fat loss and insulin sensitivity improve - 💡 Mental clarity increases due to stable energy and reduced inflammation - 🧬 Cellular regeneration and longevity markers rise - 🛌 Better sleep, improved digestion, and reduced cravings But here’s the thing... THE TWO True Types of Fasts In their most authentic form, there are only two types of fasting: 1. Dry Fast (Absolute Fast)🚱 No food. No water. 2. Water Fast💧 Only water. No food. These are true fasts because the body enters a genuine fasting state—no calories, no digestion, no fuel from the outside. So What About Juice “Fasts”? Or “Daniel Fasts”? Let’s be honest—those are not true fasts. They’re calorie-restricted diets. They may have value (discipline, detox, etc.), but physiologically and spiritually, they don't trigger the same fasting mechanisms in the body or the same level of surrender in the spirit. Real fasting is about letting go fully, trusting that God will sustain you beyond what food ever could.

The longest I’ve ever fasted was about 24hrs. How long should I be fasting for?
🧠 SELF-CONTROL: THE LOST DISCIPLINE 🧠
Let’s talk about something we rarely confront anymore — self-control. In today’s world, we live in a state of constant indulgence. Food is everywhere. And we’re conditioned to believe that feeling even slightly hungry is some kind of emergency. Ever hear someone say they’re “hangry”? That’s not normal — that’s a lack of self-control. It’s a modern symptom of a deeper spiritual and physical disconnection. But here’s the truth: Our ancestors didn’t eat 3 meals a day, let alone 4 or 5. They didn’t snack every two hours. Sometimes they ate once a day. Sometimes they didn’t eat at all. And guess what? They survived. Thrived, even. Today, we eat out of habit, not hunger. Out of emotion, not need. And the result? We’ve become slaves to our cravings, calling it “normal.” 📖 Galatians 5:22-23 says:“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control…” Self-control is not optional. It’s a mark of spiritual maturity. So here’s a challenge: ✅ Pay attention to how you act when you're hungry. ✅ Reflect on how often you think you need to eat. ✅ Ask yourself: “Is this physical hunger, or just a habit or craving?” And if you find yourself unable to stop eating something you know is harmful to your body, your energy, or your mind — pause. Is that normal? Or is that bondage? Real freedom isn’t doing whatever you want whenever you want. Real freedom is choosing not to — and being at peace with it. Let’s grow in self-control. In mind, body, and spirit.Let’s stop letting food (or anything else) control us. What are your thoughts on this? Have you noticed this in your own life? 👇 Share below — let’s grow together.

Hello Dor, I am so thrilled for this training, thank you so much for having me! May God bless your heart 👍
Nuts
I have been challenged finding organic nuts without salt. (Macadamia's) They were not at whole foods this week. Also my favorite comfort food nuts (Cashues, Pistachios and Peanuts) are not on the good nut list. I just need to get over it and stop crying over letting go of old habits...

@Sylvia Garey The more I eat Whole Foods, the less cravings I have! This is my personal experience!
Shabbat Shalom, Family !
As we head into Shabbat, I want to encourage you to slow down, breathe, and step into the gift God has given us: rest. 📖 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God.” – Exodus 20:8–10 This is not just about stopping from work—it’s about healing, renewing, and reconnecting with the Father. When we pause, our bodies recover, our minds reset, and our spirit is restored. A few ways you can enhance your Shabbat rest today: - Fast gently – even skipping a meal allows your body to detox and your digestive system to reset. - Hydrate well – clean water and herbal teas help flush out stress and toxins. - Go outside – let the sun hit your skin, breathe fresh air, and walk slowly in nature. - Unplug – put away distractions and allow your nervous system to calm down. - Pray & read Scripture – let God’s Word feed your soul more than food feeds your body. 📖 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” – Matthew 11:28 When it’s time to end your fast (your “break-fast”)Remember—it doesn’t have to be in the morning. Whenever your first meal of the day is, keep it gentle: - Start with juicy fruits only (like oranges, watermelon, grapes, papaya, or berries). Avoid bananas at this stage. - Eat them on an empty stomach, and allow them to digest alone for at least 30–45 minutes. - This helps flush toxins, clears out your digestive system, and prepares your body for deeper healing. When you honor this rhythm of rest, healing begins on every level: - Physical – your body repairs, inflammation decreases, and energy returns. - Mental – your thoughts clear, anxiety fades, and peace enters. - Spiritual – you draw closer to God, hearing His voice more clearly. Take this day as a sacred appointment with your Creator. Rest, heal, and let Him renew you. 🙏 Shabbat Shalom, Dor
