SEEING THINGS THROUGH DIFFERENT LENS
Have you ever heard the saying, "There's always 2 sides to a story?" Have you ever hears just one side and believed it and refused to hear the other side. I have. Had I opened my heart to listen to both sides, I would have seen things differently and was wrong only listening to one side. What do you think about the way people saw Jesus? Yes He had people believe in Him, but many more condemned Him and wanted Him killed. Jesus was different than everybody else. He saw the heart of a person. He didnt judge you. His teachings mesmerized people. The same teachings made others mad. Here is a passage about Jesus seen by others but what Jesus did and didnt what others thought. The Eyes of Christ by Eric Scalise The world saw only that Jesus was eating with tax gatherers and sinners … but Jesus saw people in need of the great physician. The world saw only a blind beggar named Bartimaeus, shouting above the crowd and disturbing those around Him … but Jesus saw a man reaching out in faith and in need of mercy. The world saw only a group of children, annoying the Master … but Jesus saw their innocent trust and a kingdom that belonged to such as these. The world saw only a crooked tax gatherer named Zacchaeus, becoming rich through the suffering of others … but Jesus saw a man ready to be broken with an act of repentance. The world saw only the crowds pressing in on Him from all sides … but Jesus sensed the touch of His garment by a trembling woman. The world saw only five loaves and two fish to feed so many … but Jesus saw a great multitude hungry and in need of compassion. The world saw only the woman caught in the very act of adultery and deserving condemnation … but Jesus saw a daughter in need of forgiveness. The world saw only a robber crucified as a common thief … but Jesus saw a lost soul worth dying for. The world sees only a man dying with AIDS and whispers that he probably deserves it … but Jesus sees someone who’s alone and afraid of dying. The world sees only the alcoholic, lost and groping in the darkness … but Jesus sees someone whose life can be restored.

GOSPEL IN A SINGLE VERSE
2 Corinthians 5:21 “For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” is often called the clearest, one sentence explanation of the gospel because it shows the entire salvation story in one verse. Sin causes the separation from God and the guilt and shame we feel before God. Our sin needs to be gone and not ignored. How does this happen? 1. God sent us a perfect Savior, His Son Jesus Christ. Jesus lived a sinless life. He knew no sin. Jesus lived in perfect obedience to God. That made Him uniquely qualified to stand in the place of sinners. 2. Jesus was sent to be sin for us on the cross. Jesus took our place and bore our judgment we so rightly deserved. 3. This shows the Great Exchange. I learned this at the men's conference I went to. The Great Exchange is sin placed on Christ. Christ's righteousness is given to believers. 4. It Explains the result: Righteousness “So that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.” Through faith in Christ, believers are: forgiven declared righteous restored to relationship with God. (The veil was torn.) Simple Gospel Summary: This verse teaches us- Jesus took the sin we deserved so we could receive the righteousness we could never earn. That’s the heart of the gospel in a single verse. Have you thought about giving your only child up to take on something of this magnitude? Do you ever think about what Jesus went through before He was ever nailed to the cross?

Such a powerful reflection on 2 Corinthians 5:21. The way you explained the Great Exchange really captures the depth of the gospel, Jesus willingly taking on our sin so that we could receive His righteousness. It’s humbling to think about the sacrifice God made and what Christ endured out of love for us It truly reminds us that salvation isn’t something we could ever earn; it’s a gift of grace. “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 Grateful for the mercy, forgiveness, and restored relationship with God that we have through Christ. 🙏
FLESH VS. SPIRIT
Galatians 5:17 For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. We can all relate to this verse. It talks about our flesh vs. the Spirit. Living by the Spirit is the right thing to, but can be hard. Our flesh is weak and so easy to fall into temptation. The desires of the flesh Flesh refers to the sinful nature, the part of us that stops listening to what is right. This includes desires like: pride jealousy lust anger selfish ambition and more Galatians 5:19-21 ESV Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21 envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. The Spirit refers to the Holy Spirit working within believers. Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. I am a sinner and fall short of God's glory everyday. We serve a God of forgiveness and grace. 1John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
