Congratulations! Dreaming of having own company as well.
LinkedIn Headline Hack
Tech professionals: Your LinkedIn headline is costing you interviews. If your LinkedIn headline is just your job title, you're invisible to recruiters. Here's why: recruiters don't scroll through profiles randomly. They search. And they search by keywords specifically, technologies and skills. Weak headlines: · "Software Engineer at [Company]" · "Product Manager" · "Data Scientist" These tell me your role but nothing about what you actually do or what you're good at. Strong headlines: · "Software Engineer | Python, AWS, React | Helping companies build scalable systems" · "Product Manager | SaaS | AI/ML Products | 0→1 Launch Experience" · "Data Scientist | Python, SQL, Tableau | Turning data into business insights" The formula: [Job Title] | [Top 3 Technologies] | [Value Proposition] Why this matters: When a recruiter searches for "Python AWS engineer," guess whose profile shows up? Not the person who just wrote "Software Engineer." Drop your current title and your main tech stack. I'll write you a stronger headline in the comments.

Haha, I can definitely relate to your example. Gonna use your formula starting today. Thanks for sharing! 🫶
Am I Stuck
I am Estimator at one of best company (Top 40) in Canada as General Contractor. Its been a year and half in this company and total 2 1/2 years of experience overall in field. I feel like I have stopped improving at the pace I was expecting and I am doing some mistakes which I could have watched it easily while submitting the hard bid. I am trying different things while being off work as structures, scheduling, learning process as they were my subject in masters education, but I feel what should be my growth look like. Why I am being slow at learning and I am 25 year old, and what should be my next step. I feel being pre-construction manager will be actually worth it as I gain more knowledge and experience. Need some help as you guys have definitely gone through such period.

I’m in the same boat as you, just on the design engineering side. I totally agree with what Tim said. Big companies are big for a reason, they’re already well-established. Sure, there’s always room for improvement, but the impact usually isn’t that noticeable unless it’s something major that saves a lot of cost or drives big change. That’s actually why I’m here, pushing myself to expand my knowledge and hopefully grow into an industry I feel is really worth pursuing.
Career growth
Hi, I’m Ian from the Philippines. I have two years of experience in Design and Project Engineering within the aerospace industry, where I worked on technical design, coordination, and project execution. I’m now exploring opportunities for growth in the construction industry and actively building my knowledge in construction estimating, construction management, and related competencies to support this transition. I’m eager to learn, collaborate, and gain practical experience in this field.🫶 Tim, thank you for your dedication to teaching and inspiring people who aspire to enter this industry, especially through free and accessible resources.⭐ If possible, may I ask whether you have any complete and publicly available project documents that I could use for practice? Most of the materials I’ve found only include 2D drawings without accompanying specifications, project notes, or supporting documentation. Having access to a more comprehensive set of documents would greatly help me in developing my practical skills.

@Tim Fairley Thanks, Tim. I’ll wait for the files, I really appreciate it. I don’t think there is a boom in construction work here in the Philippines. I feel that it’s more due to the availability of remote QS jobs.

@Tim Fairley Ah, I wouldn’t say it’s easy. The competition is quite high. But if I may say, we tend to see remote work as an opportunity for growth and long-term career development.
