My "All Your Love" attempt at using my looper
I've been trying to put the rhythm and lead parts together for this lesson using my loop pedal (Boss RC-5). I haven't been able to manage the transition between parts without a pause yet. As usual, it's all harder than I thought it would be, but I'm working on it. Here's where I am so far.

Beautifully done Rob. Is that purely manual timing on the looper? Very accurate. ‘Rob Wilson’s Bluesbreakers with…..Rob Wilson!’
‘All Your Love’ intro off The Beano Album
Ben’s lesson last week. I’ll miss this week due to family stuff, but I really liked the lesson, and that Mayall/Clapton album is the real deal. So here’s a rough first try to a drum track. Not a feedback submission because there’s not that much to it, but if anybody else is trying this, let me know how it’s going and if this sounds on the right track?

Feedback. Improv. Change of tempo. Slow and melodic, then rock lead solo.
Dave Matthews Band Watchtower backing track. Slow tempo then changes up. Nice to play over. Trying for melodic ideas then more dynamism in the fast section. Any tips welcome. Trying to vary phrasing a bit. Not all eighth notes. Conscious of losing the time a little bit when trying fast picking….but maybe get away with it? Thanks Rob. Possibly goes on too long. Maybe should have stopped when I got up to ‘box 1’ at the octave. But I hear the original as a mix of drama and introspection? The drama of the riders approaching…the suspense, and the tension, and maybe sadness, of the chat between the joker and the thief. Can you capture those nuances in a guitar solo? Can you tell that story. Don’t know. But I think the best solos tell, or add to, a story?
Feedback on 12 bar blues, newish licks
I recently picked up three or four new blues licks, and in this short (1:24) composition, I tried to use them all, mostly focusing on one particular lick per verse. It doesn't quite sound like a blues solo to me, it sounds more like an exercise, but I can't seem to get it to sound more interesting, and frankly I've played it so many times that it's too boring to work on anymore. Looking for feedback on any of: 1) technique that stands out as needing help 2) how to improve the composition to make it less boring 3) some alternative approaches for bars 9-12 of each verse 4) anything that strikes you as notable

@Rob Wilson Yeah. After a long working life of pretty constant uptight....laid back is very pleasant. really nice, and useful submission. I enjoyed the feedback.

@Ben Johnsen I got a lot from this. The variety in pick attack thing is something I think about but don't always accomplish. Varied dynamics can add so much? I like the rhythm around 7 minutes....sounded syncopated....really effective. And I like the idea of kind of going out of time then back in. To me that's a big attraction in Hendrix' slow blues, where he kind of lets it fall apart then the true line comes back in. Order coming back from chaos. Very compelling. Very blues!?
Live Calls
Just a heads up, for the time being I've moved the live calls to Thursday's at 7pm UK time (2pm ET, 11am PST). I was struggling to make the Wednesday time work so I'd rather be more consistent in my availability to make the calls. Hope to see you there this week if you can make it 👍
