Help please...
So without going into developer tools via Facebook messenger, I am trying to pay tribute to a mutual friend by completing our unfinished song. The problem is, the audio he sent via messenger and he has thus passed so if anyone has any idea I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks in advance.

I also used specific questions to elaborate steps that may seem unclear so here's how ChatGpt explained it: Perfect, Heather — your setup is almost exactly what we want: https://rogueamoeba.com/loopback/ - ✅ Logic Input: Facebook Messenger (from Loopback — this brings in the Chrome audio) - ✅ Logic Output: UAD Apollo (this sends audio to your headphones or monitors via Apollo) You're correctly routing: 🔊 Chrome (Messenger) audio → Loopback → Logic (Input) → Apollo (Output) ✅ Now, to clarify your question: “Do I need Pass-Thru if my Logic Input is 'Facebook Messenger' and Output is UAD Audio?” 🎯 Short answer: No, you do not need Pass-Thru unless you’re combining multiple audio sources into Logic (like Chrome plus your mic or system audio simultaneously). Since you're just recording Chrome/Messenger audio into Logic and monitoring via Apollo: 🚫 You can safely remove or disable Pass-Thru in this setup. 🧪 How to Confirm Everything Works (Final Check): 1. In Loopback: 2. In macOS Settings > Sound > Output: 3. In Logic Pro: 🎉 You should hear the Messenger audio through Apollo and see the waveform recorded in Logic. 💡 Optional Tip (if needed later): If you eventually want to: - Record your mic and Messenger audio together into one track - Or mix system audio, instruments, or Zoom into Logic ...then you’d reintroduce Pass-Thru and blend those sources. But for now:✅ Keep it simple. Skip Pass-Thru. Let me know if you'd like to send a screenshot of your current Loopback routing to confirm it's spot-on — or if you want help cleaning the audio once you record it 💛

New Song Release
Hi everyone ! I’ve been away for a bit learning and chipping away. I joined this community last year and found the coolest group of people that I’ve had the pleasure of collabing with. Some I even get to call friends now 🥹, I’m thankful for mastering’s YT videos, fix the mixes and the wonderful people I met here. I got to a point where I did enough learning and now its time for tire to meet the road. I just released this single called SOUVENIR, first of many this year. There’s deff things I wanted to keep tweaking but I’m learning how to just finish and let it go. I’m certain every release will get better and better. It’s my first time doing the production, mixing and mastering on a song so any feedback on it would deff help the next go round🤍. SOUVENIR- https://linktr.ee/shmadukes

CHANGING MY PERSPECTIVE AND ACCEPTANCE
I woke up this morning with something new in my thoughts. A new perspective at my current life and where I am physically and mentally. As many of you may know I have several health issues and a couple of conditions that some (including myself) might consider challenging. I must admit I have lamented over the loss of abilities in many of the things I love to do. For some wonderful and unexpected reason I have a new understanding of some of my personal challenges and it started this morning. I think it was Helen Keller that said “"I cried because I had no shoes, until I met a man who had no feet," that coming from a Champion of Overcoming physical limitations, is the basis for my new outlook and for posting this to TRE family. I could list my “disabilities” and health issues but to my point they don’t matter. And no one needs to know what my ailments are. It is counterproductive. I am going to learn and grow and make music and help other people make music and Trust the Process and Enjoy the Process! I was going to say and “Process the Trust” but that would have been stupid so I’m glad I didn’t say it.

You are definitely resilient and I do not know your health struggles but this is understandable and relatable as this musical journey can be exciting and/or taxing at times both mentally and physically depending on constraints that are outside and inside of our control. Thanks for being vulnerable, also present, and putting in the work as I am sure you know you are not alone.
Stuck as a Beginner
Hello everyone, I’m a 14 year old music producer and I’m feeling really down right now. I’ve made a few songs as a beginner, but after that, I feel like I’ve made little to no progress. I really don’t think it’s my mindset, because I’m definitely willing to put in the work, but it just feels like there’s so much to learn and I don’t know where to focus. I end up not making music because I get overwhelmed, and it's really messing with my mood. I love music production. It feels like my purpose and I have so much fun learning. Right now, I mainly make Lofi music because that’s what I’ve always wanted to do, but at this stage, I’m open to trying any genre to help me learn. I can play a bit of piano, but when it comes to actually creating a song, I get lost unless I’m following a tutorial. I don’t want to stay in this spot forever, so if anyone has advice on what I should focus on or how to get past this plateau, I would really appreciate it. You’d be a godsend! Thanks so much for reading. (Edit) —————————————————————————— Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to engage with my post and share your helpful feedback. I apologize for not being able to respond to all of you in as much detail as I would have liked. I've been really busy with school lately, and when I'm not working on school stuff, I’ve been sick (I’m an online student). Now, I’m going to list out some of the common questions I’ve been asking myself but never quite got around to asking anyone: - As someone who loves reading, are there any music production or music related books that you’d recommend? - If you had to start over from scratch, forgetting everything you've learned so far, but you could leave yourself just one roadmap to get to the point you're at now, what would that roadmap look like? - If you could go back in time and give your younger self any advice whether it’s about music or life in general what would you say? - Do you have any tips for making it easier to recreate songs, or is that just something that comes with time and a lot of trial and error?

I would break the chunks of learning into smaller tasks to learn since you do enjoy and go from there if you are in any of the skool modules as well as have fun while playing SoundGym. Also, you’re not alone and so I look forward to your growth plus you wouldn’t be here if you didn’t have a stance too so I am glad that you are in the one of the best mentorship communities to learn also if you get stuck, you can always reach out!
Michael Smith facing charges streaming bots
This BBC take is interesting because this man made 10m allegedly from buying bots and his music partner informed the FBI. I wonder if he is convicted how this will affect the streaming landscape moving forward. Also, I found it funny given how these services all make money off of the Artists. https://youtu.be/8RpxiEuGuUw?feature=shared

@Monroe Neese yes thankfully we are in a community with like minded interests as I am referring to other marketing platforms and promotional services that land in my Instagram inbox encouraging “promotion” as I generally remove and block them who promise organic services that involve the whole pay to “play” and/or malicious individuals who target other creatives released work as it jeopardizes their business interests by disrupting the actual stream numbers causing spikes that can lead to an Artist’s music being taken down as well as discredits their audience fan base.

@Julio C For one, this incident posed a serious threat to my music’s distribution, as I received a notice from my distributor questioning the sudden spike in plays. I did not purchase any bots, nor did I pay for any promotion outside of Facebook ads and legitimate Spotify Canvas marketing. I have no idea what would motivate someone to interfere with another person’s business in this way. Sometimes, fraudulent streams originate from bot farms or unauthorized playlist placements, which becomes obvious when reviewing the metrics. To be clear, this happened to me—not with any of my current releases, but with a collaboration. I suspect it may have been unintentional on their part, but regardless, this can happen to anyone. It undermines the integrity of sharing music, generates invalid streams that make only pennies in royalties, and ultimately affects placement and growth.
