Stuck as a Beginner

Hello everyone,

I’m a 14 year old music producer and I’m feeling really down right now. I’ve made a few songs as a beginner, but after that, I feel like I’ve made little to no progress. I really don’t think it’s my mindset, because I’m definitely willing to put in the work, but it just feels like there’s so much to learn and I don’t know where to focus. I end up not making music because I get overwhelmed, and it's really messing with my mood.

I love music production. It feels like my purpose and I have so much fun learning. Right now, I mainly make Lofi music because that’s what I’ve always wanted to do, but at this stage, I’m open to trying any genre to help me learn. I can play a bit of piano, but when it comes to actually creating a song, I get lost unless I’m following a tutorial. I don’t want to stay in this spot forever, so if anyone has advice on what I should focus on or how to get past this plateau, I would really appreciate it. You’d be a godsend!

I've been really busy with school lately, and when I'm not working on school stuff, I’ve been sick (I’m an online student).

As someone who loves reading, are there any music production or music related books that you’d recommend?

If you had to start over from scratch, forgetting everything you've learned so far, but you could leave yourself just one roadmap to get to the point you're at now, what would that roadmap look like?
