BANG!
DistroKid
I have a friend who has started releasing his own original music through DistroKid and told me that I might be able to release my mashups through there. But instead of listing the artists so that they pop up on their artists page, which I don’t want to do, I could give them credit by listing all the stems/songs I used from each artist. I don’t want to mess up anything with my friend’s music and want my mashups to be free for everyone on streaming platforms. I just wanted to see what could be the best recommendation for me to join my friend’s Ultimate subscription as the 2nd artist, but give him all or the majority of the royalties, which I don’t really care about. Or should I just buy my own, which would be the basic Musician subscription?https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Gaemv35oyTHEzSbu9ATKM6pojBhZr4Xx

Like Marc said, unless you have ultimate approval from all parties, you're are not able to distribute tracks. Either way, you're 100% getting flagged on Spotify. I would suggest putting them on Soundcloud instead, and put follow/like download gates. Not very more legal, but more tolerated as you don't make money. Great way to get your name out there and grow.
Didn’t Win to open for 4b and why it’s okay
Hey Guys! Last week, I asked the community to tag me in 4Bs post to be the opening slot for his show at the American Dream Mall. I thought I’d give it a shot, and then was actually shocked by the amount of tags I have gotten. 4B and I know eachother, and I saw that I had Deffinitly gotten enough tags for him to see my name, and maybe believe I’d be the right person for the slot. I did not win, but came in 3rd. As much as I would have loved to win and play the show, it’s okay. From this I learned a couple things. It opened my eyes that there actually are people out there who follow me and my music, enough to the point that I was able to crack the top 3. I learned that I have a foundation of supporters - family, friends, casual listeners, weekly viewers of my Twitch stream. I learned that if I continue what I’m doing (producing, streaming, supporting other artists), That foundation will continue to grow, and I can win something like that in the future. I learned that I was close but not close enough. And need to reflect and fill in the gaps that’s missing. (More networking, more social media, more + even better music). When you break it down like this, goals don’t seem that impossible. I’ve had my handful of broken promises, missed opportunities, screwovers ect. So to my younger producers I just want to say to keep buckling down, because you may be further along than you thought. You just may need to work a little harder but keep pushing!

That's exactly the way to go. "No" doesn't always means no, it sometimes just means "not yet". Keep crushing it my dude.
Song Stems
I recently found this really cool song that I want to remix but it is not on soundcloud where I usually rip the mp3 from and it is only on spotify and youtube music. Does anyone have any ideas on how I could get the file?

Like Amir said, I buy from Beatport to get top quality. Otherwise, I also check various DJ pools like Zip DJ or Fuvi Clan (If you use em, ofc). It's always good to support as well, as it's only 1 or 2 dollars.
Collab Room
New category for chats - got requested this by a few people so lets run it. If you have a song that you would like to collab on with people, drop here and get to work. Collaboration has made me much more well rounded of a producer in so many ways to i encourage everyone to start collabing if you havent. have a great weekend everyone
