Why Your First Paid Website Changes Everything
Your first paid website isn’t about the money. It’s about the shift that happens once someone actually pays you. Before that moment, everything feels theoretical. You’re “learning.” You’re “practicing.” You’re still deciding if you’re good enough. Once someone pays you, that changes. Now there’s a real project. Real expectations. A clear finish line. You stop asking, “Am I ready?” And start asking, “What needs to be done?” That’s a completely different mindset. Your first paid website forces clarity: what’s included what’s not how you communicate when the project is done It exposes where things break — not to punish you, but to teach you. And once you finish it, something clicks. You realize: clients don’t want perfection they want clarity and follow-through “professional” is mostly about structure, not talent Most people never cross this line because they keep preparing instead of delivering. But once you do: confidence stops being theoretical the next client feels possible pricing stops feeling imaginary The first paid website is not about becoming an expert. It’s about becoming real. Everything else builds from there.

I’ve never actually used Wordpress! I got into Wix early doors and have just stayed with them, once you know your way around it’s so easier to keep using the same platform isn’t it!

Ha ha ha… do you know I’ve pretty much worked from home most of my career… I couldn’t bare being in the office now. I know lots of companies are looking to move people back to the office aren’t they! 🫣

@Ivan Vazquez ha ha ha absolutely! 🤣 on the odd occasion I do need to work from the offices if my least productive day - I don’t get a single thing done, all the interruptions and background noise I can’t focus on anything!

👋 Welcome to the VA Skool — Start Here
Welcome. You’re in the right place. This Skool exists to help Virtual Assistants build real, practical skills — not hype, not theory, just how the work actually gets done. Before posting, please take 2 minutes to get oriented: 📌 How this Skool works Feed → questions, discussions, updates Job Offers → shared by admins only. labeled [Hiring] For Hire → share your availability, skills, portfolio. labeled [For Hire] Classroom → rules, structure, and learning paths, courses 👉 Read first: How This Skool Works (rules, posting structure, expectations) Courses & Learning Paths (what each course is for, and who should skip it) 💼 Looking for work? If you’re available for work, post in For Hire. That’s the only place members can share their availability and services. Posts here are competitive by design — visibility is temporary. 📚 New to VA work? There’s a low-cost beginner course in the Classroom that explains: what VAs actually do day to day core tasks, systems, and client expectations It’s optional, but helpful if you’re starting out or feel unsure. 🤝 Be human You don’t need to be perfect. You don’t need to know everything. Just be clear and respectful. Glad you’re here.
