Leveling up after 14 years
Hey everyone! I’m Gaius Murrand and I’m excited to join this amazing community. 🌍 Where I’m From: I am from Estonia 💪 Why I’m Here: I’m here to learn the free standing handstand and press along with it and the full front lever. 🔎 My Skill Level: I’d say I’m currently at the intermediate stage (I can do <10 muscle ups, okay form half-lay FL hold for about 5 seconds and chest to wall HS for about 40-50s) 🎯 My Top 3 Calisthenics Goals: 1. Freestanding handstand push-ups 2. Full front lever pull-ups 3. Flying muscle ups

@Bensamaa Yassir Hey, thanks for the motivation! I think my title is a bit misleading, heheh…I’m 28yo, started when I was 14 and now I’ve decided to get back to serious training and not just working out like most of those years, even not doing anything for a long while.

@Bensamaa Yassir My workouts were always without a specific goal, no certain structure or skill specific exercises, just mindless routines varying here and there, sometimes just EMOM pyramids with pull-ups, dips and push-ups.
Staying lean, looking huge
How do you stay/look lean and huge year round? Having a hard time losing my love handles and really making my abs appear. I’m rather on the skinny side body type wise so I have quick indigestion, but gained some weight after marrying, currently ~83kg at 188cm. I have a physically demanding job where we walk 5km a day and I just started doing 2*30min jogging per week, so cardio and extra calorie expenditure is at a starting point. What’s the real thing behind it? Muscle size for lats, shoulders and traps, because I hear those are what really stand out even if you have some extra fat around, or is it still fat loss and calorie deficits?

@Chan Woo Park Thanks for the good tips! I'll take them into account, especially the part about not forcing prog. overload too much on weighted stuff.

That’s some strength for ya - even 4 is amazing, keeping your balance and all. How long did you train for the handstand and the push-ups?

@Senne Van Derieck I see - at what point did you get consistent enough to unlock them? How did your training look like?
