September 2026: Welcome To Our NEW MEMBERS!
Hi all, Fionnán from Cork, Ireland. 15 years in HR, I lecture Performance & Reward at UCC, and I founded ainm.ai, which helps small Irish employers with HR compliance and pay transparency. I'm using AI daily for drafting, research and admin, and always looking for the time audit that actually sticks.

@Mithuran Manogaran Thanks Mithuran, that's a fair point about stopping at awareness. I'll give it a go and let you know which one wins. My guess is admin.
The AI Time Audit: Free version vs PRO version
I built a tool called the AI Time Audit, and there are two versions of it. Here's the difference. Both versions do the same first job. They find the one task eating your week, and tell you exactly what it's costing you per year. Most people are shocked by that number. Here's where they split: The free version gives you a 7-day quick start. Your first win with AI in 24 hours, and Claude set up for your task by day 7. The Pro version gives you a full 30-day build plan. It takes that task all the way to running without you, with a live Build Room every week to build it together. And if it's not automated in 30 days, you get your money back. The free version is yours right now. It takes 10 minutes: https://claude.ai/artifact/VMAjzUmcLsrcMPKiJGiLbh (Sign in to Claude first. That's what writes your plan.) Do the 7 days. If you want the full build, message me "PRO." Then comment your number below. I want to see what everyone's losing. Mithuran

Putting a yearly cost on one task is a smart way to make the time loss real, people usually underestimate it. One tip from the HR side: when the task involves staff or candidate data, check what you're pasting into the tool before you automate it. Which kind of task tends to come out on top in the audits you've run?

@Mithuran Manogaran Thanks Mithuran, that's useful. Email doesn't surprise me at all. What tends to be the second one after follow-ups?
You're probably losing $40,000 a year and don't know it.
Not to bad hires. Not to bad ads. To one boring task you do every single week. Here's the math: 6 hours a week on email × $150/hour × 52 weeks = $46,800. Gone. On email. I've audited 20+ businesses. Most owners have no idea what their #1 time drain is actually costing them. So I built a tool that finds yours in 10 minutes. Free. You'll get: 1. Your #1 time drain 2. The exact dollar cost per year 3. A 7-day plan to start handing it to AI this week Take it here: https://claude.ai/artifact/VMAjzUmcLsrcMPKiJGiLbh (Sign in to Claude first. That's what writes your plan.) Then comment your #1 task below. I'll reply to every single one with how I'd automate it. The task isn't going away on its own. Find out what it's costing you. Mithuran

Good prompt. In small businesses I'd guess the biggest drain is often re-typing the same information into different places, like emails, onboarding forms and timesheets. A simple tip is to track your time for just one week before deciding what to automate, because the real culprit is rarely the one you expect. What did people here find surprising?

@Mithuran Manogaran Ha, calendar management is a classic time sink. Did you find a fix that stuck?
START HERE: Welcome to The AI Edge
Welcome to The AI Edge. You just made a great call. This is a free community for small business owners and solopreneurs getting 10+ hours a week back with AI. No coding, no fluff, just systems you can use this week. Do these 3 things right now: Step 1: Take the free AI Time Audit. It takes 10 minutes and shows you the one task eating most of your week: AI Time Audit Step 2: Download the Skool app so you never miss an AI Hack or the Thursday live call Step 3: Come back here and drop a comment below In your comment: → Your name and what your business does → Your #1 time drain (whatever the audit found, or just the task you hate most) I read every one. Every week I pick one of these comments and build the fix live on the Thursday call. Here's what happens every week: → Tuesday and Thursday: a new AI Hack, with the prompts and templates to use it the same day → Thursday at 9am ET: Live AI Time Audit. I take one member's business, find the task eating their week, and build the fix on screen (recorded if you miss it) → Friday: MVP spotlight, where one member's win gets featured in front of everyone P.S. The more you show up and share, the more you get. This community is built by doers, not lurkers. See you in the feed. — Mithuran
Hi all, Fionnán from Cork, Ireland. Business: ainm.ai, HR compliance and pay transparency software for small Irish employers, and I lecture Performance & Reward at UCC. #1 time drain: admin that gets re-typed in different places, like contracts, leave and onboarding paperwork. That's where I'm putting AI to work first.

@Mithuran Manogaran Thanks Mithuran. Honestly it starts in a few places: an email thread, a spreadsheet and sometimes someone's head, which is exactly the problem. Do you tend to start by picking a single source of truth, or mapping where the data lives first?
Stop trusting your AI's first answer
Here's something most people get wrong: they take the first response and run with it. That's the mistake. AI isn't a vending machine, it's more like a new hire. Talented and fast, but it doesn't know your business or your standards until you push back and correct it. Every time you challenge an answer, you're doing two things: training it to get sharper for your business, and catching what it got wrong before it costs you. AI sounds confident even when it's off. Next time AI gives you something, ask it why. Ask what it assumed. Tell it what's missing that only you would know. The business owners who win with AI won't be the ones who use it the most. They'll be the ones who know how to challenge it well. What's one thing you've caught your AI getting wrong after you pushed back? Drop it below.

Really like the new-hire comparison, Iggy. In HR we say the same about onboarding: nobody performs well until someone gives them context and honest feedback, and AI seems to be no different. Do you have a go-to follow-up prompt you use to push back on a first answer?
