Starting slowly but surely
I asked a friend who works for a promoter if I could shoot some of their shows. Let me know what you all think!

Amazing!!! Great job 💙
beginner shoot
This was my first ever concert gig. I had an idea of what I was doing that day. But I was also super shy to get infront of the performers. I felt too weird to go in front and shoot. Also, these images were shot under the Shutter Speed 1/150, F/2.8, ISO 3200 Since my SS was low, these images are actually not sharp. A week ago, I went back to this file and thought maybe I could play around. I did play with lot of things and these are tbe results. Hope you guys have a great week. 🥂

Love the motion blur on these! Great job 😊
photos from a laid back little warehouse gig:
had a nice change of pace last weekend shooting a super laid-back, hidden-away gig in a warehouse. this was a cool & unique space to shoot in - lots of camera gear to work around, and a pretty dispersed audience. in terms of the edit, i leaned into the cozy warmth of the space, and went with a 70s-inspired, rich, orangey-brown look. pretty different to the usual, so it was nice to venture in this direction a bit. also had a chance to test out my new Insta360 X4 - i think i'll be able to make a lot of fun content with this thing. i'm excited to get that out to you. anybody here go on any shoots last weekend? show us your photos!

All of these look great, but that last photo is so cool!
How the gig went
I have to be honest, I didn't go very well. The show started an hour late, the band I was shooting was on last, and the bar itself wasn't a good spot for me (The window was a place that everyone smoked heavily, so all the smoke got inside, and I have asthma, my lungs are suffering.) Also the lighting was so bad most of my photos are unusable, and I wasn't able to use flash or another light source. I think I can salvage some, but not many. Out of about 2k photos I can maybe use 40. Here's an idea of what I was working with, and I'll post about the editing process later, but I wanted to share a not so good experience since a lot of these have been positive. Good things about the experience is the band members themselves were pretty cool and one of them also likes silent films a lot so we talked about Buster Keaton and Harold Lloyd. EDIT: This example photo is unedited and is a screenshot from lightroom, this is just one of the only usable ones I've found so far. This is of Flash Floods.

Giving Everyone The Spotlight: Making Sure No One Gets Left Out
Hello all! Something has been on my mind recently, and it has to do with how I take pictures and who I take pictures of. This includes, but is not limited to- -Every band member during a performance🎸🎸🥁🎙️ I try my best to give everyone the photos they deserve, especially during shows. Big or small doesn't matter the act or venue, to me I feel like there will always be a case of band members in every band not being appreciated. This means taking photos of each member could help build their confidence when performing. Not only that, but it also helps in a sense that those photos are something they will look back on for years to come. No matter how "bad" or good you think the photos look, always remember that a lot of bands appreciate the gesture. Consider it your gift to them! 😁 -Concert/show goers👾 I know it seems meaningless at first, but just keep in mind that while there would be a lot of movement especially for concerts, no matter big or small will be harder to capture. My favourite trick is to capture stagnant moments such as when the crowd is really into the music but at the same time move less. These are the perfect times to get their photos. If you're unsure of how to capture the photos or how to position yourself, I suggest practicing at least a week or a month before getting your desired shot. Practice, but also apply the technical and practical theories- envision/plan ahead on how you want your photos to look like. Furthermore, expect the worst. Not everything will go your way. Try to learn and adapt to your surroundings, especially for gigs and shows that tend to have energetic crowds. Those are the hardest and if the situation is too overwhelming, try taking photos from a distance. Do not overexert yourself or push yourself to do things you feel that you are unfamiliar with. Take it slow, bear in mind that it isn't a race. 🤷🏻 -Merchandise handlers, other fellow photographers/media and organisers.📸🙏🏻 Ah yes, the team behind it all... making sure that everything goes smoothly.
