I had my first shoot after a short hiatus, and it feels great to be back! Chipping away at the editing now - excited to share them soon :) Who else took photos this week? Let's see 'em!
Hi y'all I'm a beginner so I hope u'll still like my photos 😅 I don't have much events near me so I cannot practice as much as I would love to... I cannot get any accreditation :( I guess I'm a bad photographer or I don't have enough followers on Instagram to get one 🥹 Anyway if you like photos please consider following me, it means a lot 🥹♥️ https://www.instagram.com/lampart.photo/
these are really great shots, @Marta Lampart! rejection is part of the process. you're a good photographer, so keep swinging the hammer 🔨🔨 this might mean having to shoot smaller shows and building your way up, but that's a great way to build a reputation and a solid portfolio of photos to prove to bigger & bigger names that you're worth giving access to. you got this 💪
Photography's subjective, but we all have our favourites. Who's your #1? (I'll give my praises to Henry Hwu, who reminds me how far there is to go in this whole "concert photography" thing. Crazy good)
i'll start us off: when trying to get access to a concert as a photographer, don't just reach out to the headlining act. it's a lot easier to get in touch with the opening acts, who can often give you access to the show. in my experience, you'll be allowed to stick around to shoot the whole show.
Hey y’all! Are any of you in gig work? Specifically photo gig work, I’ve started thumbtack and Taskrabbit recently and it’s been hit or miss lol. Been hired a ton for mostly weddings and headshots. Just mainly wanted to see what everyone’s experience has been/ what do you do to prepare
@Alberto Rivera yeah I can imagine you'd get some interesting requests with that haha the only paid photography work I've done is in live music, and I used cold DMs to land those, so i won't be of much help when it comes to using gig apps. would be curious to see what other people's experiences are, though!
