WHY STICKING TO A TREATMENT SEQUENCE MATTERS (CLINICALLY & PSYCHOLOGICALLY)
Too many practitioners change the game plan too early. But your treatment sequence isn’t just a clinical roadmap - it’s a psychological contract. Here’s why 👇 1. Structure Breeds Safety 🧠 - When clients see a clear, step-by-step sequence, they feel safe. - It gives their nervous system certainty. - It builds trust in you, and belief in the process. Changing the plan too early = sabotaging momentum. 2. Emotional Investment is a Tool ❤️ - When clients can see progress on a set path, they start to care. - They commit. They show up. They do the work. - This emotional buy-in makes them less likely to drop off or self-discharge prematurely. “I’m at phase 3 of 6” feels powerful - like a journey they want to finish. 3. Jumping Around Creates Confusion ❌ When we switch approaches too often (manual > dry needling > strength > back to manual), clients get mixed messages: “Is this working?” “Are we guessing?” “Why hasn’t it improved yet?” Stick to the sequence, even if it’s not exciting every session. 4. Clinical Effectiveness Still Comes First ✅ - This isn’t about being rigid—it’s about being intentional. - If something needs to change, explain why, and how it still fits into the bigger plan. - The structure is flexible—but not chaotic. To summarise: - Your treatment plan is more than a plan. - It’s a promise, a story arc, and a motivational framework. - Don’t change it just because things “plateau”- double down, reinforce, and refocus. 👉🏼 PDF version of this under “Treatment Notes” in the classroom.

thanks for these insights here By treatment sequence you’re referring to which modalities are used in the session as well as the overall cadence for the sessions to optimise their recovery correct?
PEOPLE BUY YOU BEFORE THEY BUY THE SERVICE 🤑
You can have the best techniques, degrees, and modalities— But if your clients don’t vibe with you, they won’t stick around. Here’s why the person matters more than the product 👇 1. People Don’t Buy Treatments—They Buy Trust 🤝 Dry needling, rehab plans, cupping, strength blocks… all of it means nothing if they don’t trust the person delivering it. They’re not investing in a “session.” They’re investing in your confidence, clarity, and care. 2. Your Energy Sets the Tone ⚡ If you come across uncertain, rushed, or disconnected—they’ll pick up on it instantly. If you show leadership, calmness, and direction—they’ll follow you anywhere. Great clinicians lead with presence. The service comes second. 3. The Therapeutic Relationship is the Real Intervention ❤️‍🔥 Evidence shows: the relationship is often more powerful than the modality. That rapport, connection, and consistency? That’s what makes clients stick, rebook, and refer. 4. Authenticity Over Perfection 🧠 You don’t need to be perfect or polished. You just need to be real, grounded, and emotionally intelligent. Clients remember how you made them feel, not which glute bias drill you prescribed. Now go out there and continue to be a genuine person and excellent communicator!! Be you!

sometimes I feel like my energy is more than what the client has. So whilst I try to be conscious and reel my own energy down it starts to feel like I’m not being myself. Is it a bad thing if my energy is more than the clients? As long as they don’t feel overwhelmed and I’m keeping them part of the loop.
WHY BOOKING CADENCE MATTERS MORE THAN YOU THINK
Understanding and influencing booking cadence is the secret sauce behind faster results, happier clients, and a stronger business. Let’s break it down 👇 1. Treatment Frequency Fuels Recovery ⚡ - Healing and Central Nervous System (CNS) changes aren’t linear—they’re dose-dependent. - Frequent treatment = momentum. - It reduces inflammation, builds movement patterns, and rewires pain perception faster. - Sporadic sessions = stagnation, slower gains, and client drop-off. 🧠 Clients don’t just need time to heal—they need repetition to reprogram their system. 2. But… Price Challenges Break Cadence 💸 - Even when clients understand the importance of consistency, price becomes the limiting factor. - “I can only afford once a fortnight” slows recovery and leads to frustration (for both of you). - This creates a lose-lose: slower results + less income. 3. Solution: Packages & Memberships 📦 - Offering packages or memberships helps clients: ✅ Commit upfront ✅ Prioritise their rehab ✅ Remove the friction of rebooking each time - And for your business, it: ✅ Improves cashflow ✅ Increases Lifetime Value (LTV) ✅ Boosts buy-in and accountability 💥 Stop selling sessions. Start selling solutions. If you’re not guiding the cadence, someone else (their wallet, their schedule, or their procrastination) will. 👉🏼 PDF version of this under “Treatment Notes” in the classroom.

This is a great insight. I have a question. Would this be done for every client that walks through the door? Or only for specific ones like athletes that want to get back to sport? And is the conversation discussed in the first session right?
AC JOINT PATHOLOGY - Is this the missing joint in shoulder diagnostics??
32 YO F Ct presented today with superior-anterior shoulder pain 7 days after throwing a ''straight cross'' in pad work. Of all the structures that could have been affected, such as - A) Proximal short & long head bicep tendons B) Subscapularis tendon C) Superior-anterior labrum D) Supraspinatus insertional tendon E) Subacromial bursa Why do you think the AC joint was the structure that was implicated? What would you take into consideration when determining why the AC joint was damaged? What questions would you ask? DROP YOUR COMMENTS BELOW 👇

Great dissussion points here. Here's my take: The AC joint by nature would be compressed repeatedly and with a high force when a person throws a straight cross as part of pad work. The joint itself would likely be the most aggravated as part of pad work due to the number of repeated hits to the bag. However the tendons and bursa mentioned would not be as directly impacted by the force hitting a bag compared to a joint. If the injury was missing a contact shot the story would be different as tendons/muscles may be more implicated because of them over stretching and straining. I would consider the training load, palpable tenderness, and pain on movements like horizontal abduction. I'd ask questions such as: - Was it in the beginning of the session or middle or the end? - Any instability during movement? - Is overhead lifting / holding difficult?

@Rulan Albarouki I'd say that active structures have the ability to brace and co-contract just before impact and hence absorb force better than passive structures. For e.g. When a right straight cross is thrown the anterior delt and posterior delt co-contract and create stiffness and stability around the shoulder joint when the joint stops moving abruptly like when hitting a pad.
