Dopamine detox group challenge? 👀
Yesterday during the Cohort 3 Q&A we had a fascinating discussion about dopamine, procrastination, sleep, focus, social media, Netflix binges, gaming, and why we sometimes struggle to do the things we actually want to do. Multiple members shared that when they reduce the constant stimulation for a few days, they: - Sleep better - Feel calmer - Focus easier - Stop procrastinating as much - Feel more connected to themselves So I'm considering organizing a 3-Day Dopamine Detox Challenge for the ADHD Harmony community. We'd check in together each day and share wins, struggles, insights, and what changes when the noise disappears. I'm curious... Who would actually join? Let me know in the comments. What would be the hardest thing for you to give up for 3 days? 😅

I’m in! Phone is always an issue, but it has been better for the last couple weeks since I’m blocking the worst apps using a scheduled block. However, sugar is my biggest current issue. I wish I could block it as easily as I can block phone apps! I could use some help on guidelines for what to eat and what to avoid.
More zombie than human being
📅 Daily Check-in - June 4, 2026 💭 Reflection: "Well I've now had two nights of disrupted sleep and it was harder to get to sleep this morning than yesterday. It's time to break the dog's habit (it's only one dog) of needing to go outside in the early hours of the morning. The old Leonie that used to survive on fumes doesn't fit with the new Leonie who clearly can't and won't survive on fumes. It's left me feeling drained. That fog in my head has returned where I feel more zombie and human. I recognise it now in my former self. Time to squash it before it moves back in!" 📊 Wellbeing Scores: ⚡ Energy: 4/10 🎯 Focus: 4/10 🌙 Sleep Quality: 3/10 ⭐ Average: 3.7/10 ✅ Activities from yesterday: 🌙 Early Bedtime 💧 Stayed Hydrated 🌬️ Breathwork 🌿 Grounding 🥗 Healthy Eating 🍺 No Alcohol ☕ No Late Caffeine 🥩 Hit Protein Goal 🥦 Ate Vegetables 🍳 Home Cooked Meal 🧘‍♂️ Meditation 📝 Journaling 💚 Gratitude Practice 👥 Quality Time 🍽️ No Phone at Dinner 👂 Active Listening

Good luck with the dog! I’m curious, do they sleep in a kennel? We have one dog that does and one that doesn’t. The dog that sleeps in the kennel (who can be very rude during the day) has learned to be content and wait for us to get up to let him out. It has been a blessing to be able to wake up on our own timing instead of the dog’s!
ADHD Iceberg
Y'all may have seen this before, maybe even here, but I saw it for the first time the other day while scrolling (measured not doomed) and shared it with my therapist today. I saw a post form a new person to the room, and their post reminded me of it. Would you say it's pretty accurate? It's missing a few I'm sure, but it got a whole heck of a lot of them.

This will be really helpful in helping neurotypical family members get a better picture of what is going on. My wife is non-ADHD, and she often feels like our ADHD kids are being difficult or defiant. This gives a visual for the many other things going on under the surface! Thanks for sharing
Day 1 Observation
Just started the ADHD Awakening Assessment and found in interesting insight: Every system I've tried (Franklin Planner--I'm old!, GTD, all of it) failed for the same reason - my brain treats tomorrow like a stranger to today. I guess neurotypical brains may experience "tomorrow" as continuation of "today." When I have a task that is not complete when I go to sleep, everything in my mind resets. Restarting work on the task (along with worrying about all the work on a new day) makes it feel overwhelming for me.

@Deb Brouwer Those are some really good insights! Thanks for sharing. It really helps to hear that I’m not the only one!
Section 2 Snapshot.
Section 2 of my Snapshot just hit different. I've been calling it "lack of confidence" for years, but it's actually grief - for the relationships that never got deeper, the people I could've helped, the versions of me I stopped believing in. And the distraction cycle I can't break? Turns out it's not a knowledge problem. It's a nervous system problem.

@Michael Wright that’s a great insight! I’ve had a few “light bulb moments” like this recently. It is interesting to me that a new understanding doesn’t fix things right away, but it certainly put me on a better path. Thanks for sharing
