Relationship vs Deal
I have heard this numerous times. But I need to keep reminding myself about it. Pace even alluded to it this morning on the Jam Session. And it goes like this: "Don't chase the deal, chase the relationship." He told a Subto member this morning that he lost a deal(got ghosted) because he got too technical too early. I have heard many people doing deals say that they don't even bring up what they do on the first contact. They just offer help or provide value first and begin the 'relationship'. This is just something I need to be more mindful of, and so I thought I would share it. 😊

Gotta start somewhere!
35 contacts and more to come
Here are my 35 contacts. I was surprised going throughy phone how easy it was. I am only a halfway or 3/4 of the way through my contacts. I forgot how many relationships I built when I was doing outreach for wholesaling

I didn't think I had any relevant contacts in my phone but you bring up a great point in all the connections I've made wholesaling recently.
My why
I’ve gone back and forth on whether I should post this but I keep thinking maybe it will help someone else and give me motivation to keep going. I set out wanting to build a real business in real estate to create wealth and freedom for my family. At first I was trying to wholesale and bird dog but recently pivoted to focus on transactional funding since I’ve now acquired knowledge a much smaller constituency have. My goal is still financial freedom for my family but now I’ve also recognized I am in an unstable marriage and I need to work on ensuring my own financial stability for the coming year. Having two small kids at home and not wanting to get a W2 so I can just send my paycheck to childcare, my goal is to build a real sustainable business that weathers any kind of storm or instability that comes my way. Would love to know… how many of you are doing this alongside a W2 right now or are you 100% entrepreneur at this point?

@Neeraj Diwan that's a great way to look at it. I had not thought about it like that. We are conditioned to view a W2 as being more stable but you're right that it is ultimately about building something to survive any uncertainty.

@Mrc Azaziaah thank you for the encouragement.
Habits > Goals ? 🫡 Share Your Thoughts 💭
👉 Let's talk about what habits or standards you are implementing that will move you closer to what you want to be in 2026. I'm less of a big goal person in recent years, and more of a daily habit person. Please hear me out. Close your eyes 🫣 and think about what three 3️⃣ things done every day would make your life the best it could be. Nope ... 🤚 stop reading. Close your eyes and take a minute. Be honest with yourself as you think. You're not reading this because your eyes are closed 🫣 and you're thinking. 😉 👀 Okay. Now that you have them, write them down. ✍️ How you write them matters. Write them in the form of something you DO. For example, if one of the things was "to read", then write it as: "I read every day before bed for 5 minutes." 1) "I do ___ every day [this much]" 2) Use a minimal amount that can always be done no matter how bad the day 3) When do you do it during the day? You might do it sooner or later at times, but give your brain a target I call this list of statements my motif. 🥸 Let me share a personal example to see if it helps. In 2025, one of mine was a 3 item combo I titled "first things first." It was: 1️⃣Read my motif, 2️⃣ Read the scriptures (even just one word), and 3️⃣ pray. Forgive the personal nature of this, but these were a few things that I felt strongly would improve my life if I did them consistently. The consistency wasn't perfect, but these new habits were powerful to me. 🫷 Don't make too many. I recommend 1-3 items. These are not goals, these are new standards that you WILL do every day. Too many expectations means a negative feedback loop that kills it. If you need more things, make them goals, not your new habit / standard. We will build on these habits over time, we don't need to add them all now. Here are some categories to consider: 🟢 Physical life 🔵 Social life (including family) 🟡 Spiritual life 🟠 Intellectual life (including work) Personal Share ... be kind. In 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣5️⃣, my new habits were about my spiritual and work life.

I appreciate you writing this out. This is very simple and very tangible! I look forward to what this year has to bring.
