What does rest mean to you... really?
Not scrolling until your brain goes numb. What does actual, nourishing rest feel like in your body? One of our Peace in Rest members said something that stuck with me: "I approached yoga nidra to get better sleep... and then I had no idea the depth it would take me to." That's it, isn't it? Most of us come in through the door of exhaustion and end up discovering something we didn't even know we were looking for. So — I want to hear from you. Drop it below: What brought you here? What are you discovering it's actually about? Or what would you like to learn about true rest!? No right answers. Just the honest ones.

I came to yoga nidra after my diagnosis of ME/CFS. I was grieving the loss of who I had been - a teacher, volunteer, social being.......- to being basically bed bound with no capacity for all my former activities. I needed to 'escape' and discover ways of finding my 'new' self. I found Yoga Nidra & Beyond and my love affair with YN began. I could ease my mind and body to find serenity, calmness, tranquillity and finally, acceptance. A beautiful way to escape! Thank you, Ayla and community for gifting this to me 🌟✨️

Hi beautiful community, I am writing to you from the Sacred Valley in Peru, resting deeply among mountains, rivers, and a community of kindred souls. Taurus season has a way of asking us all to slow down, find our roots, and return to ourselves. My body has been leading the way, and I am following. Over the next two weeks, I will be taking on nature’s pace; breathing with the stillness of the mountains and flowing with the current of the rivers. My response times may be slower than usual, but you are not forgotten. If anything needs urgent attention while I’m away, @Alisha Macedo is here to support you. You can reach her by emailing [email protected] and she will be happy to help. Thank you for holding this space with so much grace and care. I hope you are finding moments to slow down and let nature set the pace for you, too.

I hope you have a serene and calming experience. My body seems to be rebelling atm. My mind is calm and peaceful though as I meditate and practice yoga nidra to get me through.🌸
Where does it all go!?
Somewhere along the way You learned that your feelings were a problem to manage. Too much. Too intense. Too hard to be around. 😭 So you got good at holding it together. Being useful. Constantly moving. Keeping juuuuuust enough distance from the bubbling underneath So you could still function. But here's what that costs: You can't rest when you're bracing or hiding yourself. The body won't rest when peace is held at arm's length. Real rest (the deep kind) requires that you feel safe enough to let what's there actually move. Not so you can be another problem to solve, but so you can just let it move. This is the second of the 5 States of Rest... (LEARN MORE) Each state gets its own month inside the membership I'm opening this week. Its own practice. Its own nervous system map. Its own way home. POLL | Which feels more true right now?

How wonderful ❤️

In this live session, I introduced something I’ve been quietly building... The 5 States of Rest | Watch Replay This framework is rooted in Yoga Nidra and the understanding that rest isn’t one experience. It’s layered. Each of us has a dominant Rest Archetype pattern in how our body, mind, and spirit relate to rest. When you understand your state, everything begins to make more sense. We also explored: • What Yoga Nidra actually is — conscious rest while the body deeply relaxes • How archetypes shape human experience (inspired by Jung + Campbell) • A guided practice to help you feel your current state, not just think about it And I’ve created a 5-question quiz to help you discover your archetype. This isn’t something to rush. Let your body answer. If nothing comes… that’s information too. I’m personally reviewing the first 100 responses with my team. But first, tune in to the video! 😊

My life has been impacted by ME/CFS and fibromyalgia. Yoga nidra helps greatly with relaxing my mind and body and reducing pain. So glad I found you.
