45% of Church Leaders Admit to Sexual Immorality.
The cure is not accountability software or shame. We’ve worked with and mentored over 60 couples in the past 5 years, and here’s what we’ve discovered works best: The cure is PURSUIT. When a man daily pursues his wife with Love, Affection, and Spiritual Leadership, he starves temptation— and fuels EPIC Intimacy in his marriage.

Something that's helped us (me) personally with that pursuit, is to name it "the pursuit of intimacy" instead of focusing on my "ideal" outcome of "more SEX!". This has resulted in my wife feeling more honored in the pursuit, instead of the knee-jerk "men just want sex" that so many ladies feel, the connotation being that I'm manipulating to get what I want, and don't actually care about her desires to feel deeply seen, heard and understood on a deep emotional level. We're united in that we both deeply desire intimacy with each other, and we both understand that we have different ways of getting to intimacy. When we each honor the other's desires, it naturally results in BOTH of us desiring more sex.
Let it Go
It's fun at times to go back through some of my old writings from when I wrote a lot more than I do now. Here's a piece I wrote back in 2018, and it's still good for me to read it again. Maybe it will be for you too. === Let It Go Sometimes, the best gift you can give yourself, is to Let It Go. Sometimes life is hard. Sometimes deep, unanswered questions bounce inside the mind like a yoyo on a string. Sometimes we get so caught up in our pain and struggle and personal drama that surrounds us, that it becomes our identity. Some of us struggle with feeling fat and ugly and stupid and useless. Some of us went through a bitter divorce. Some of us lived thru ugly abuse and fatherless homes. The list goes on and on, of the crap that life dishes out. The choices that other broken humans make, that then continues its broken path in the next generation. But I'm here to tell you, sometimes the best gift you can give yourself is to let it go. I'm not suggesting to be flippant about the past or present realities. I'm not suggesting to live in denial. I'm saying, take all the crapbola from the past. One by one, pick them up. Acknowledge it. Feel it. And then take it in the palm of your hand. And then open your hand and release it. It owes you nothing. If someone broke your heart.. Let it go. If someone stole your innocence.. Let it go. If your father abandoned you, or abused you.. Let it go. If your church backstabbed you, judged you, and cared only for its own agenda.. Let it go. If your own family disowned you.. Let it go. This seems like a hard message. Maybe you're saying, But Eric, you don't understand !! I can never forgive my (fill in the blank) for all the pain and suffering he caused me!! But I'm here to tell you, hard and painful as it can be to let go of all our hard, bitter feelings, from our hard, bitter pasts, it is still much more easy than carrying all that buried pain for years and years. Letting go Is painful. But it is also freeing. If that is you, carrying the what-ifs, the if-only's, the broken dreams of a broken past..I'm here to tell you.. Let it go.

Key to Peace
Do your thing. Say your piece. Make your offer. Then let go of the outcome. ... That's the key to living in a peaceful flow of life despite challenges, frustrations and less than desirable outcomes. ... 📸: It's mushroom hunting season in Montana, so taking the family out is, of course, a mandatory rite of passage. Our first scouting trip proved a bit early in our area, but the adventure was more than worth it.

What Prevents Me from Creating The Life I Want?
One of the bigger mistakes that I've observed myself and others making, is the thought that we have to have it all together financially, with timing, spiritually or otherwise, before we can pursue the life we really dream of deep inside - the life we identified in the Vision part of MVP - the "What My Ideal Life Looks Like" statement. What we often don't realize however, it is in the decision to move forward, DESPITE the obstacles, that we then start to become the person we need to be, we start finding the money, we start making it happen. If we break it down, it really is just a lack of commitment that keeps us stuck. Going even deeper, the real reason we lack commitment is because we're afraid. So now we know what we're actually dealing with - fear! To get unstuck from this hamster wheel of fear, we need Full Commitment first of all. We know what we want - the truth is we are never going to have enough money, never going to be ideal timing, never going to "feel ready" before we actually go out there and pursue it. We must Decide what we want. Commit to it fully despite the obstacles and the fear. We know we have fully committed when we are Acting on it. In the Action, the fear starts to drop away - you are starting to create a new story. In the pursuit, we will find what we seek - Success.
