How’s your school/daycare going?
School or care is such a big topic for all of us, it consumes our thoughts, how they are doing, what we can do. Just curious how it’s going for you?

My son’s teacher just asked if we could have his RBT come to school so she can learn best how to support him in the classroom. He had a hard day and ended up throwing up all over the classroom 😭, which he does occasionally when he gets super worked up. Unfortunately our ABA clinic doesn’t do in-school so we’re looking for other options. We’re trying to decide if we should pull him from school for the year and just focus on ABA before Pre-K next year.

@Katie Lents he doesn’t have an IEP yet. He’s in a little private episcopal church school. We’re going to reach out to his case worker from the county and see if we can find a spot in the 3-K program. We originally hesitated to put him in that program because his twin brother goes to the private school and logistically it was easier to keep them together for me (since he’s 1/4), but we’re going to try to make it work so he can get an IEP and receive services in school/work with special education teachers.
OCTOBER Q&A
Hello! I’ll be hosting a Q&A and would love for you to submit your questions so I can answer them! This one will be recorded but in the future I will be hosting live session so we can talk in real time! What are some of your questions!?

How would you explain autism to younger siblings? All my kids are under 4 and I want to start talking to them about Teddy’s needs and differences but I’m not entirely sure how to begin.
A Journey Worth Celebrating
We have so much to be thankful for! Adam is doing so well and learning so much! It’s been a long journey! So much has changed big and small and I am so so thankful I can be here to guide and support this amazing community! Your story matters! And reflecting is so helpful. 💙 Share one thing you remember from the day of your child’s diagnosis and how you feel looking back now, I’d love to hear your journey. Or if. It diagnosed yet, a question you have!

I felt a bit relieved and validated in how I had been feeling because I brought it up to our pediatrician. At the same time I felt sad and nervous for what that meant for Teddys future. I was a teacher before becoming a mom so I’ve worked with many autistic students but I knew parenting one would be very different.
Intro
Hi All! I’m a mom of 4 little (3.5 year old twin boys, 1.5 year old girl, and a 4 month old boy). My one twin boy, Teddy, was diagnosed with Level 2 Autism when he was 2.5. He’s been in OT and Speech since September 2024 and started ABA therapy over the summer. He’s currently in school 4 days a week as well! I’m excited to learn how to parent him better and tune into his strengths!
