Holding his down around multiple people who he isn’t familiar with and in an unfamiliar environment with plenty of distractions. He’s only been to my Mums house in Canberra once before as a puppy so he’s doing really well 💞 @Loma Simmons

Guys the girls and I have been busy…. But so have you! 😍 When I tell you that we know if you put in the extra miles at home, I mean it, and the last three weeks have been a testament to all the extra efforts at home. The quantity of dogs we have had passing levels at the Shellharbour store has been incredible. I am so beyond proud and impressed 🥹 Congratulations my friends 👏 A super special mention for Maximus @Daniel Hilton and Rosie. Between them they have over come leash reactivity, bite risks and a general low threshold for impulse control and are now A+ students that we use for demonstrations and pair with other dogs for group sessions 😭❤️. Merlin and I practiced our down stays at the dog beach this afternoon! He is pretty good with these but the added distraction of other dogs chasing their balls was definitely a challenge 🤭 Couldn’t have asked for a prettier backdrop for training however 🤩

Maizie's challenge this week with the down was to do it calmly & get more duration. Some days were good & some definitely more challenging when I pushed her duration boundaries, if there was no reward (treats or ball) to give her a reason to stay down she would lose focus quickly & get up or if I popped my foot on the lead as Matt showed us she would start sooking. With some more words of wisdom from the trainers we have pushed through that threshold a bit & got some longer downstays calmly, more relaxed & with duration. Phewww we got there. Lol. 🤣 Thanks trainers. 🙏💜😊
