Thanks to everyone who made it to the Phil Stark Zoom!
That was the first of many industry pros I'll be interviewing over the coming year. Thanks for a great showing. Pick up a copy of his book. Highly recommend, very practical steps on screenwriting and building a career. How to be a Screenwriter And here's Phil's Linktree with all the good links to his socials and such.

I'm trying something, need your help
I've modified member requirements to allow hot seats and guest for paying members only. This way we get fewer bots and spam accounts, which I have to constantly delete. However if you are one of the original 100 who joined, this might affect you and I want to remedy that. If you are on a free account, go see if you'll be able to join the upcoming Zoom with Phil Starks. If it says you have to upgrade, DM me and I'll upgrade your account, so you can access events like this. I want people to be able to come into the community and see what we are building here for free. Then if they want to fully participate, they'll be able to upgrade for a small fee. So if this affects your account, DM me and I think I have a remedy for that. Thx.

Phil Stark - Screenwriter/Therapist - Thursday at 10 PST
Very pleased to announce Phil will be our guest this coming Thursday on Zoom. He's the very funny writer behind Dude, Where's My Car? As well as many episodes of That 70's Show and South Park, among many others. It will be invaluable to be able to talk to a therapist, who's lived the writing life himself. And understands the pain and joys this roller coaster can bring! He's also written a fantastic book on the nuts and bolts as well as the mental aspects of screenwriting: How to Be a Screenwriter. Highly recommend you order that from Amazon and watch Dude before the Zoom. Neither are required, of course! I want you there either way! Bring your questions too because I'll def be saving time for a generous Q&A. Zoom link (also in Skool Calendar): https://us06web.zoom.us/j/87509927532?pwd=ejUkVeEam6q0tVzcCWMaikbxaugTtE.1

Useful book to understand the viewers Pov better
Hi! I studied this book last year and I found it very helpful to understand the viewers Pov better. It helped me quite a lot to understand technically how to showcase my story and how the connection between fan and characters develops. The book examines how viewers emotionally engage with both drama and reality television. She also explains why viewers abandon TV shows, or in most of the books she talks about reality show and the concept of selling and popuarizing other people's emotions. She does so by also talking and interviewing screenwriters, producers of these shows, like Got to dance and MasterChef. Here I put a pdf that summarises the book. I don't know if there's a pdf. I bought mine on Amazon Kindle. Hope it helps. Have a good day/night! 😊
