When you run out of luck and your life really sucks ... just blame the Jews! 🎵 🎶 Brilliant song, nice music and typical Jewish humour! https://youtu.be/V-F6WhBj6UA?is=bRcPbRrwJru_N1Xb

@Lucy Pseudonym hehe. I do not remember who shared it. But someone in this group did. What other great songs do you know?

@Joseph Dabby I too am in the electrical industry. Here our high voltage transmission lines are uninsulated. The birds do not get electrocuted due to Equal Potential Plane. The same way a high voltage electrician stands on mat to keep them in the same electrical state as the equipment they are working on.

@Joseph Dabby yes exactly. When the bird is standing on the cable. Just one phase. The electricity still runs through the bird. But since it isn't contacting something else, like a different phase or ground, the bird becomes in the same potential plane as the cable. This is called Equal Potential Plane. The "energy" comes from different potential. This is why if there is a downed elctical line you can be shocked or electrocuted by walking near the cable. This is called step potential. Because the potential energy between to places on the ground is different the energy moves through the person.
Holding Politicians Responsible
Argentina's president has proposed a law that if Congress doesn't balance the budget over a certain amount of months it will shut down the government, freeze all spending including pay and possibly bring criminal charges. it is called Fiscal Shackle. I am putting this on my radar to see if it goes anywhere. I do need to look into more. I was curious as to what other laws you know of around the world that hold politicians accountable? What laws could you propose to hold politicians accountable.

@Daniel Bell I do not believe it is a three branch system anymore. It's a two branch system (right/left). The entire government has been polarized against the people. I do think we need to fix the House first. A representative from Washington shouldn't be spending their whole time fight for Issues in Minnesota.

@Daniel Bell I too am an Independent. The world is not Red or Blue. Yeah, you got the lazy over dramatic example. As I analyse what I was trying to express I realize Representatives are suppose to support their constituents views and needs in the federal government. I am allowing myself to fabricate hate and expressing it lazily when I could be having a conversation. Thanks for calling me out on that. What I don't understand is gerrymandering. Now it seems to only be used to concentrate voters for one side or another. Has it ever served a purpose other than this? What other issues in the House can be addressed and influenced by the public?
Speaking out & (fear of) rejection
In the past month I have been speaking out more publicly (mainly via LinkedIn, my only real social media). About what's going on in Iran, immigration, Islamism and covid. Nothing extreme, nothing hateful, I care about love and truth. I tried to write everything in a good and respectful way, however I got into some 1-1 discussions with people who seemed more 'bad faith' or had despicable opinions, for example those praising the hangings, so I called out those people. This is what I experienced: 1. I felt a big relief and really aligned that I spoke about what I believed in is important. 2. I felt (and still feel) fear of being judged and that people will reject or leave me. What does this mean for my business? Will people hire me? And what does it mean socially? No one in my network liked any of my messages, and 5 people have removed the connection with me on LinkedIn. However, I do not want to live in fear and let it govern me. Armin said (paraphrasing) that if you do not get any hate for a long time that you are probably not expressing important things. Something like that. I totally resonate with that. So yeah I want to be able to deal with this, but it is stressful. 3. It was a good learning experience. The way I dealt with the discussions on LinkedIn now compared to three weeks ago is different. I will now always stay respectful (instead of 90% of the time), not insult them. You lower yourself by doing that. Even when people deserve some harsh words, I do not think this really works on a public forum. Curious if you agree with me or not. Also I am sharpening my ideas and getting to know more about what other people think. Being in this place also helps for that even more so. Anyways, if I have to choose between living with integrity and being hated by 90% of people. I have heard integrity defined as still saying and doing what is right even when everyone in the room is against you. I want to choose the first and I hope I am strong enough to keep doing that. Hopefully with less hate then 90%! I do not think it will be that extreme but you never now, close to NL in the UK you can get arrested for a wrong tweet. I think this is the reason why many people don't speak up, for all of these fears I lay out, and this is why you get a silent majority.

1) I have always thought of integrity as doing the right thing when no one looking. "Saying and doing what is right even when everyone in the room is against you" is massive. This is much harder to do. This is my new definition of integrity. Sometimes I catch myself not doing something because of laziness, lets say picking up a piece of trash I knock out of the car, and I will say to myself "integrity is doing what is right when no one is looking." I then will pick up the trash. Maybe now I will speak up in the room when everyone appears to be against me. 2) I to do not want to be the silent anymore. Majority opinion or not. 3) Thanks for the encouragement to keep calm, grow and voice my opinion. This is why the First Amendment comes before the 2nd. Fix it with words before violence.
