@Michael Edwards yes it's very calming for me when I actually take time out to do it. Maybe one day, with @Shakira Beltre 's permission I can do a class here for anyone interested. I'm still a beginner but I would love to share

@Michael Edwards that pretty awesome!! Very beautiful background
the paradox of sensitivity
being sensitive means: feeling everything deeply: the beauty and the pain. picking up on things others miss. creating art that moves people because you felt it first. high emotional intelligence. and also: needing more recovery time. absorbing other people's energy. feeling things that have nothing to do with you. taking everything to heart and feeling exhausted by it. it's a gift and a weight at the same time. how do you navigate being a sensitive person in a world that wasn't really built for you?

At first I didn't understand anything about seeing healthy boundaries without feeling bad. I'm highly empathetic and feel it all even when I don't want to. I'm getting better at but yet still a work in progress at feeling and not reacting, it before I react to stop and ask is I need to get involved. Is it necessary? I always take time out when I get home from work to decompress, whether putting my head under the shower or just watching something that takes me away from it all. Listen to my solfeggio sounds, tuning forks, out just go to sleep.

@Shakira Beltre Thank you so much!! It's been a true journey🙃☺️ but leaning along the way no less. Finding myself down the rabbit hole a lot. My curiosity take me places a lot that I never thought I would be. Currently, I'm working with acrylic art, such as dutch pours and I'm getting very interested in somatic art for my art healing classes I'll be teaching soon. I love to experiment with textured art as well. It's so fun to explore.

Right now, it will be in Tennessee and they will be starting (hoping) to launch in August or September once as month for underserved women enrolled in the program and for those that aren't, will pay a fee. I'm nervous and excited at the same time.
healing your nervous system & creative self 🌱
i just watched this conversation on the Know Thyself Podcast with dr. sue morter about healing a nervous system stuck in survival mode, and it felt like a gentle wake-up call. the main idea: so many of us are living in a constant state of survival: overthinking, overdoing, always on edge. dr. morter explains that our nervous system gets “stuck” in these patterns, often because of old wounds, stress, or just the pace of modern life. but healing is possible, and it starts with learning to regulate our system, come back to our bodies, and allow ourselves to feel safe again. some things that stood out: - you don’t have to suffer to awaken, but suffering can be a doorway to deeper self-awareness - healing isn’t about “fixing” yourself, but remembering your wholeness - the body, mind, and breath are designed to work together to help us heal and flourish - when we slow down and get present, we can transform old patterns and access new creative energy this made me think about this community, art & alchemy. as artists and seekers, our creativity is deeply connected to our nervous system. when we’re stuck in survival mode, it’s hard to create, to feel inspired, or to express ourselves fully. but when we learn to regulate, to breathe, to be present with our feelings (even the hard ones), we open up space for new ideas, healing, and transformation. in this community, we honor the connection between body, mind, and creativity. we use art as a way to process, to heal, and to come home to ourselves. question for you: how does your nervous system affect your creativity? what practices help you feel safe enough to create, express, or just be present with yourself? share your thoughts, art, or reflections below 👇

@Shakira Beltre I appreciate your caring words. It feels good to be able to breathe. I've been on that hampster wheel of trying to keep up thinking that was living but it's exhausting. So now I'm trying it day by day.

@Shakira Beltre I guess these moments where life gets chaotic is where the lessons are and when we get to come back to center is the rest moments.

Thinking back on 8 days ago, I would say at least 3. Definitely fell down the rabbit hole again. I didn't think that I ever came back up🤣🤦🏾‍♀️, let's just say I fell deeper. I did pull cards but for someone else my spirit led me to and I'm always questioning reality🤷🏾‍♀️🤔☺️

@Shakira Beltre honestly, I created like a planet on the canvas and did a some edging on it the next day. Really wasn't much because as you, I too was so exhausted from these last few weeks that laying on bed it on the coach was the order of the weekend. I literally have like one piece to finish for my thesis and I actually have the energy to do it this week so I'm feeling the urge to crack it out this weekend. Well see, my grands are coming over. 🤣🙃
