Keeping Score
On Saturday, my business coach gave me some super intentional instruction on how to track my business in a way that, if I had to do it manually, would have given me a huge headache. But there's a reason why she's at the income level that I'm at, and I want to get there. So as she was talking and talking fast, I was writing everything down and looking at it and going, "I would be so confused if I had to do this manually." But I don't. So I took her instruction, and I went into Claude Code, and as a part of my main agent, I have a sub-agent called the scorekeeper, which, like it sounds, keeps score of where I am in my business. All of our metrics, everything. I just plugged in her instruction, and in less than five minutes, I now have an on-demand scorekeeper that tracks where our team is at every single week. I've never had this much clarity with my goals and tracking my business metrics in my life. This is not something that I've ever been good at doing. Now I don’t have to be. Remember, if I can do it, you can do it.
@Timothy Stormer Pretty much!
@Kari Hagensmith Yeah now success is predictable, and not a someday kind of thing.
🌱 April is here. What are you building this month?
New month, new window. April is a reminder that progress does not come from waiting for the perfect moment. It comes from choosing one thing, committing to it, and building momentum before doubt has a chance to slow us down. This is the month to stop overthinking and start moving. What are we building? A better system? A new offer? Stronger habits? More confidence with AI? More time back in the week? Whatever it is, April is an opportunity to create real traction, not just more intentions. The biggest wins rarely come from doing everything at once. They come from picking a clear goal and working it consistently. One focused month can change a lot. It can cut cycle time, reduce procrastination, sharpen skills, and create the kind of progress that compounds fast. So let’s make this month count. Build the workflow. Launch the idea. Learn the tool. Finish the draft. Start the project. Protect the time. Use April to create something future you will thank you for. No drifting. No waiting. No playing small. April is here. What are you building this month? Comment your April goal.
@Lisa Adamik Not sure about a clone.
@Shelli Hugentobler I learned by watching YouTube and tik tok videos, and then I watched a webinar that Allie Miller did that took it to the next level.
I feel like Tony Stark
I feel really spoiled right now. If something isn't automated for me anymore, it feels like it's in the stone age. I use Claude code for about 90% of everything, and this morning I found out that there is a plan feature in Claude code that doesn't use any credits or any tokens. I can literally just brainstorm in Claude code, and then when I want to build something, it just switches over, which is fantastic, because I used to use Claude Chat as a brainstorming feature, but that would burn usage. I don't feel like I'm burning usage anymore. For those of you who have some hesitation with learning Claude code, get familiar with Claude and then watch some videos on how to get over to Claude code, and then watch some more videos on Claude code. That's how I did it. It's really like 10% watching videos and then 90% implementation, and then when things don't work, I just ask it why it's not working. I'm so excited for those of you who are just getting into this, because imagine the things about your daily life that create a lot of friction for you that you don't like doing. AI can remove that friction. Like, I just told my Claude code to go into my text messages and send a calendar invite, and it did all that. I didn't have to do any of it manually. And now I'm not messing up the calendar, and my wife isn't yelling at me for messing up the calendar. If I can do this, you can too.
@Madeline Mock It's Claude Code.
@Molly Scurto Thanks Molly! Happy to help.
Cutting my learning curve
So I want to share something that I love doing with AI, which is cutting my learning curve in half. I got an email today about a testimonial of how someone built an AI agent, saying they did all these things, right? A bullet list of "Here's what my AI agent does." Instead of feeling FOMO, I took the screenshot from that, put it into Claude Code, and said, "Hey, take a look at this: my AI agent and what it does. How does it compare to what I've already built?" It compared and contrasted, and then it actually went and built based on the features, which I think is pretty cool. Now, it's not to say that I don't want to actually attend this mastermind that the email sent testimonials from, because I do. I'm not focused on that right now. I'm focused on building something for my business, and then later on I'll tell the mastermind. However, this is what you can do with AI. Remember, if I can do it, you can do it.
Let Me Introduce Myself
If it isn’t obvious from my posts, I’m Dwight. I’ve been sharing builds without properly introducing myself, so here we go. I’m an entrepreneur based in Cary, NC (right next to Raleigh). My wife and I own a financial agency with a team of 25 financial professionals across about six states, and we’re actively expanding that to a team of 100 this year. Big year on the personal side too: we’re also expecting to be parents by the end of it, it's not confirmed yet. Exciting times. Background-wise, I was a professional jazz trombonist most of my life. ENTJ. About ten years ago I jumped into the business world and never looked back. I got serious about AI in spring of last year, started with free-tier ChatGPT for communication and content, then in March learned Claude Code. My main driver: I hate tracking numbers. I’d rather just execute and let a system handle the reflection. Claude Code fit the way my brain works, I build agents and automations that remove friction so I can stay focused on output. I also run a local AI Community where we get together a couple times a month, learn from each other, share wins. It's an awesome place. That’s me. Happy to be building alongside this community.
@Carl Wooten Thanks Carl! Happy to know you as well.
