I got this message that I thought was spam and then I saw the word...
XXXTENTACION. X was a rapper who was murdered in 2018, and I found it interesting as I know his father and could potentially introduce this boy to the family. I was also just discussing the idea of past lives with a friend this weekend and although she's atheist, she even believes in this idea of past lives, and was explaining some thoughts about it. What do you think though? X got killed 6 years ago now, and she has a 7 year old kid. Can a soul enter into an already alive child? Should I speak to the kid and see if it's our boy X? Should I send her info to Cleopatra (X's mom) or his dad? Should I just ignore her? UPDATE: I just got off the phone with the kid and he has black and blonde dreads like X did in 2016 , and everything else was entirely made up lmao

@Jeff Marr Interesting but the likelihood of it being a scam is quite high. The rapper is a well-known person so it wouldn't be difficult to find out personal information about him. Many Indians are skilled scammers and they have plenty of motivation to lure westerners for money. However, there have allegedly been these kinds of cases before in India. It would be interesting to know if any of them resulted in money changing hands. I don't believe that reality is entirely material and there is much that we don't know about how it works, but humans have also exploited these mysteries for centuries. So I would approach this with extreme scepticism.
Pondering on free will
Hi, I am new to this group, actually have never done a group like this so I will give it a go. I went to the discussion about free will this week, thinking that I had a firm view about it but now the subject seems nebulous and hard to grasp. Maybe it's too big a subject, or is too subjective? I have ideas about it affects my own life but that can't scale up to a general view or how others experience it.

I am coming around to the view that we do have free will. For sure all of our different genetics and histories lead us in certain directions, but at the moment of decision we still choose a or b, and they lead into different directions.

@Mike Bogucki I don't have any argument with that and am not anti-science. I am concerned with how science is used to reduce people's responses and imaginations.
Psychics Are Real?? This BLEW My Mind...
I'm sure many of you have heard me ramble about seeing the psychic in Spain. But if not, here's the story thus far.

I have had a number of psychic experiences that could not be explained at all so I have no doubt that the phenomenon is real. As far as I have got to explaining it is that there may be cracks in space/time that some people are able to access and this can be helpful. Of course, like any activity, other manipulators will home in and try to exploit it for their own private advantage but that does not invalidate the genuine experience.
Religion / God
Hi all, last weekโ€™s discussion was on Religion and I thought to share this podcast episode called Finding Faith because it is right on topic. Iโ€™d love to know your perspectives ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ https://shorturl.at/uvJK8

@Julia Archer The personal relationship can be as you describe and can be a force for good, but when it is scaled up to an organisation/tribe it can allow destructive forces to take over. The history of religious wars and covert sexual abuses shows this clearly. The brand is tainted, which is why many people choose to follow the philosophy of religions without the packaging. Apparently there were ancient sects that were forbidden to name or describe God - I have some sympathy with that approach.
Patrick's thought of the day.
So, I was thinking about the story of Adam & Eve (shocking I know.) One branch of the story discusses Original Sin, which was committed by Eve eating the forbidden fruit. What's not equally discussed is Adamโ€™s sin which is Failing to take responsibility for his actions (perhaps the first original sin of the Male). Why? Adam says in the story, "The woman whom you gave to me, she gave me the fruit of the tree, and I ate." Obviously, Adam is speaking with God at this point. The way I see it, first, Adam blames God. "The woman whom you gave to me". Adam is blaming God, perhaps stating God gave Adam a flawed wife. Perhaps if God constructed Eve better, she could have made the decision to refuse the fruit so Adam would have not been so tempted to eat the fruit. Second, Adam states that "she gave me the fruit of the tree". Adams then blames Eve for giving him the fruit, as if he has no ability to think for himself and refuse the fruit. Lastly, Adam finally admits that after the 2 reasons initially provided, he could logically make sense of why he ate the fruit. I truly believe this is why God cursed Adam. If you go on to read this story, you can see the God is not happy with Adam stating "because you listened to your wife and ate the fruit" I will be kicking you out of the Garden of Eden, to suffer for the rest of your days. I dont actually believe Adam will suffer for the rest of his days, but it's a lesson. The bible is a book filled with stories about flawed humans who learn their lesson through trial and error. Learning from their mistakes. Adam paid the price for his mistake. The way to repent for that mistake, would be the next time presented with the opportunity, take full accountability for everything that occurs to you. If not, who is responsible? Perhaps this is the reason that Males must go out into the world to learn their truth. Men often find meaning when they leave their home, go out into the world, and find their place in it. But in order to live in a state of "heaven", man must be accountable for his own actions. Perhaps this is one of many ways to re-enter the Garden of Eden, or perhaps create your own for your future family. If not, you will be cursed for your coming days. Proof of this could be that Adam's first born son murdered his second born son.

When humans are told not to do something it usually makes them want to do it more. So is the story about obedience and 'free will'?
