Confidence
I often feel my confidence is very high at the start of the game and then it diminishes as the game progresses and I start to second guess myself. How would you approach this issue as a player?

After the game reflect on why the confidence started to fade. The answer is different depending on if you were getting distracted, having a bad game and feeling unconfident, or something else. After that put it in here or you can trace back to why that would be happening as far back as you can go to find the root of the problem.
Confidence as uncertainty?
I’ve heard that confidence isn’t a feeling but more like courage but can you still be confident if you a feeling of uncertainty or that your training won’t translate to games or that you won’t know what to do?

Why you don’t “attack” the play
If you look unreal in practice but disappear in games, this is why. Most players don’t “choke” because they lack confidence. They flip into a different setting the second pressure hits. I call it your Default Mode: the version of you that shows up automatically when your name gets called. Some players default to attack: “Give me the puck.” “I’m dangerous.” “I belong.” Others default to survival: “Keep it simple.” “Don’t be the reason.” Same skill. Different wiring. In my latest YouTube video, I break down how I think Macklin Celebrini keeps “attack mode” ON (even after mistakes) And the 3-step reset you can use mid-shift to stop the spiral and get your real game back. Watch it here → https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AnSOCFM3lIA - Corson P.S. If you’ve ever asked, “What version of me is showing up today?” this one’s for you. Want More? 1. Is there a way to practice getting into the attack mode off the ice?
Why You Feel Mentally BLOCKED In Games And Make "SAFE" Plays
I explained why players panic with the puck and make simple plays instead of confident ones. I described how our identity creates a mental box of what feels safe, and stepping outside triggers protective mechanisms that push us back through fear and self-doubt. I taught that we can expand this identity box through visualization and emotional mastery work, providing evidence to these protectors until they trust us to make bigger plays.

When I play I don’t feel scared to make the tough play but for some reason I get overwhelmed during the game and my instincts revert to old habits instead of new ones, I feel like I hav pressure everywhere and panic and put my head down, I notice when I visualize I always have someone on me and imagine pressure coming from every spot imaginable and the other team crazy out of position to pressure me and then more defenders in their place so when I visualize thee usually is no right play to make.
