Monkey press - 2 kettlebells?
Just been getting back into the monkey press with kbs which I love the feeling of along with the kb press. I’ve recently acquired v light kbs (2,4,6kg) and it’s really opened up the monkey press for me in terms of springing from foot to foot and bringing in balance which didn’t feel right with heavier weights. I’m also experimenting having a kb in each hand (2kg and 4kg). Gets my heart rate going straight away! Any disadvantages to using 2 kettlebells? Less depth on the coiled side?

Since they are light weights maybe not a disadvantage. Just depends on what level of challenge you are ready for. If the opposite hand kb is not distracting from digging into your coiled side then how can we say it’s bad?! Thankful for Tim to opening up my mind around doing these movements with light weights, wouldn’t have considered it otherwise. But it was so helpful in locking new levels of body awareness and fluidity in my body’s Tensegrity. PS. I love the monkey press too!!
Natural Running
Hi everyone - interesting video, which many of you perhaps already saw in the 12 years since publication - https://youtu.be/zSIDRHUWlVo?si=E3G13hGT-_6BQXt- Hi @Timothy Shieff ! I'm asking this here, since I don't see a running thread. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm curious on your thoughts on this approach of natural running. Is this method one you would recommend? - He mentions a stable core. He does seem to locomote, but doesn't particularly mention coiling core. (I'm aware that stable core doesn't necessarily mean stiff core). - The exercise with the resistance band (in the end of the video) reminds me of your exercises in the Strength module. Thanks in advance!

This is an amazing share! What a gem. Man did this guy get it right a long time ago, most of the things he says in the video corroborates with what the fascia experts are saying now. The runner is definitely running head over foot and engaging his coils so I’m sure David Weck would totally agree here… I’m going to start practicing that resistance band drill right away. Honestly the guy explains it very simply put and clear. I don’t see any fault or error in it from my understanding. You can trust your instincts here =)
DIY hybrid rope
Has anyone here tried David Weck's new hybrid rope? I just made my own using two bungee dog leads and I gotta say, the feedback you get from the elastic component is quite something. Plus, using straps instead of handles means you can comfortably use all the CoreFist hand holds for added core engagement and shoulder fluidity 🙌💪

@Isaac Baruch also love the grip plays here too. I always do different holds with my rope handles, like sticking the knots in between different fingers as I’m flowing.

@Isaac Baruch yo man, you still using this rope? I’m just now getting around to making mine. If you are, how’s it holding up and any tweaks you’d suggest for me? Cheers bro
Hello, and a question…
Hey guys. Community seems a little dormant but thought I’d say hi anyway. I absolutely love the look of this program - it’s kind of what I’ve always envisioned myself doing, just done better than what I had in mind haha. Quick question for anyone that has gone through it in whole… I currently get online coaching and am committed till the end of the year (Weck method focused) but I know from the intro, it’s best to go through these course modules in order. Has anyone got any advice as far as doing these courses alongside other training? I’m currently thinking just to keep the weight low with my other training and just really dial it in, whilst perhaps warming up with the course material here…?

Welcome brother! If you've been pretty active in your lifestyle, I think you could totally do the modules here and whatever else training that you got going on. Most everything in here is not that intense, even the stability work that does feel "intense" is not how one would traditionally feel intensity with their weight training. It's waking up and challenge the dormant parts of your body rather, so it really doesn't conflict with your other training. I highly recommend doing the modules in order based on my experience. I was doing some kb training and some Weck stuff too at the start. It was all very complementary. Definitely focus on your goals and start from there. I integrated everything from here into my training pretty seamlessly because a) I was already doing ropeflow / kb work and b) the other stuff in here is what I alotted to "play" time in my training schedule (again because it didn't tax my body in the way something like powerlifting or hypertrophy training does).
Couple of Important Questions...
Hey everyone, I am at a bit of a cross roads with my life and business. As some of you may have noticed I recently changed my IG and YT handles to 'Tim's Gym'. 1) So with that said some of you may have even anticipated my next question coming but I am wondering if people would mind me rebranding the School of Biomechanics to become Tim's Gym? I was hesitant to put my name on it because it thought it may be more egotistical but it may be in fact more true and accurate to what I am sharing as what I share is my take on the gym and in many ways like my version of Ido Portal Method or Weck Method this is Tim's Gym. My alternative take on the gym. Also I have been building a personal website too and it will help me to simplify and minimise social medias and branding etc. Feel free to let me know in comments or privately your honest opinions! 2) How can I make this a better service for you all? What do you think I could implement to make this a better experience and help you to get more from this School? Any and all suggestions welcome! Again feel free to let me know in the comments or DM me privately. Thanks team, Tim

I feel a lot of ppl like myself signed up because they want to recreate for themselves a lot of the abilities you embody and demonstrate. And taking that as far as you want to let us in on, is totally up to you. I respect and realize that there is no separation in our physical and mental and emotional bodies—it’s all one. So to want to express physical qualities and how we physically work with our bodies and translate those developments through mental and emotional understandings/insights is amenable for most who’s been attracted to your work over the years. Was never into the name, “School of Biomechanics”. But that’s not why I signed up, it was the different integrations of movement you demonstrated in that preview video that got me. So if you’re feeling Tim’s Gym, do it. The important thing I would say is to get real consistent and aligned now with your branding if you really want to make an impact in your business. Jan’s comments were pretty solid as well. In terms of making the service better, I would say get organized with how the modules/information/trainings are made available to us. Mapping it all out is a really good idea! Tier-ing the subscription so that those who can and want to attend live calls can get benefit most from it do while those who just can’t make it don’t have to pay for it. It’s added value to get direct access to your feedback but if one is not benefitting from that than just partaking in the modules alone changes the value proposition a bit (as a monthly subscription). When modules weren’t being uploaded regularly, it did feel a little like what is the point of the subscription. But I kept with it to support your work because I know that eventually you’ll share some more great stuff.

@Timothy Shieff I would also keep Way of Rope as one of your sub-brands because it does kind of both stands alone (as a rope selling and rope flow teaching business) and fits into your overall personal fitness brand. You’ve built a lot of equity as a top rope flow teacher already since you were one of the early adopters. I think you’ve left a lot on the table by not pouring more into your pre-eminence as a rope flow teacher/practitioner. No reason why you can’t do both—the overall personal (sob/Tim’s gym) thing whilst concurrently building up more equity in the rope flow niche. It would be easy with all that you’ve already done and with the fact you have such a high skill level in rope rolling as well.
