20 days in... Injured but still going
I like consistency, and its hard to break streaks. so I am all in. Yesterday went for a 6km walk. Foot crazy sore but thats ok Today went 3km. Foot even worse. But I need to get out haha Looking at taking the next step over the next week. Next goal is running a 3km non stop run. Been adding in lunges to the daily exercises.

Hey Scott, I commend your efforts for continuing your streak, and your commitment! But, given the pain you have referenced in your post, I strongly suspect there is an issue with your form. Foot and ankle pain typically develops from a heel-strike pattern of walking. This is very common…everyone does it, MUST be correct and totally normal, right!? In fact, most people heel strike and slightly lean to the outside of their foot; trying to create stability…but this is also how ankles roll. Why would proper gait compromise the safety of the ankle…that makes no sense! Shoes have impacted the ability for our feet to properly connect with the ground; resulting in a maladaptive walking pattern that we know today as, heel-toe, heel-toe. Your feet are your lower bodies hands. Imagine trying to have precision and accuracy with your hands, while wearing oven mitts. Shoes have the same effect on our feet, and our understanding of how to use them. Forefoot walking is the anatomical design of our foot; shoes result in a heel strike to accommodate for the ā€œoven mittā€ you are realistically walking around in. Don’t worry, I don’t expect you to give up wearing shoes. But I do need you to understand your feet, better than anything else. I highly advise you come in and see me so I can guide you through proper anatomical gait by design, and not by shoes. So much of what I do is based on what I see, and feel, and I have the best ability to help you succeed and avoid this face to face. Once you know how your foot was designed, it won’t matter when, where, how long, or how often you use them, or whether you have the ā€œbestā€ shoes…you’ll be able to use your foot correctly, always! I’m a results lady. I’m only here to show you the way, and then send you on it, as quickly and effectively as possible.
2km run without stopping!
Pushed through it! Didn't want to keep going... especially when some kid on a Escooter blew past me (what a dickhead) But kept going and got it done. Didn't officially time it but took around 15ish minutes Small victories šŸ˜€

It’s so easy as new runners to focus on our times and pace, but you run laps around everyone not getting out there, no matter the speed! Good job on getting through a full 2KM without needing to incorporate walking!
Day 12 - I refuse to break a streak :)
Ran a bit... Walked a lot haha Still sore ankle, and sore knee but went for a 4k walk. Might go for another tonight. Then I filled the kiddie pool and just cold water therapy the crap out of my ankles. It does help @Desiree Dallman :) thanks for the tip

I love kiddies pools for this very reason! Brilliant way to incorporate and I am happy to hear it is helping you :)
Already a success- 9 day streak!
Got it out of the way early. Did a slow jog of 2k! Right foot still sore but that's OK. Got jumped on by a over eager poodle haha Now that I'm on a good streak it's a lot easier to go out and get it done. Looking forward to the 5k events and on track to easily complete it

Keep going Scott! You are only 12 days away from concreting a new habit into your lifestyle!
Just a walk today - 7 Day Streak!
Not running today but still got out on a walk and did 100 pushups (elevated). It is still super smokey here so its like walking through soup. haha Happy I got out and I happened to not get injured! Win!

Made it to the gym with a friend this morning myself! Roughly 10 mins on static bike to warm up 25 mins on stairclimber with alternating levels of difficulty and speed Glute and adductor exercises along with push ups and planks; static and with rotations. Also did some dead hangs and attempts at pull ups. Feeling fantastic!
