Congratulations
Words of wisdom
To newbies and experts and any one in between Whatever you decide to do don’t give up. Keep me on practicing and learning. Don’t try to be someone else. Be yourself and create your own sound. Yes learning techniques from your idols and hero’s but don’t try to sound or be like them. You don’t want to be a wannabe. Be YOU.

Yes, this is correct. Learning to play is easy for some and hard for others. The goal should always be to have fun with it, if you hear a melody in your head, try to learn. Some times playing just takes time, time to understand different sounds and keys, and getting familiar with your fretboard, where certain sounds and patterns form. There is also several ways you can play something, don’t be tied to the usual either. If you like what you are playing, who cares what others think. It’s your hobby or passion. Make it your journey!

@Steven Bonds very nicely done. Was it difficult to do and how did they come out in playability.

@Steven Bonds that’s awesome. Was it cost efficient compared to buying the one you made from somewhere. I would imagine those would be some of your favorites since you put all that time in.

Good stuff, how does it feel?
Anxiety
I am fairly new to playing in front of people. Like even my wife. My confidence level is just not there. I suffer from anxiety. Did 20 years in the military (didn’t help) Lol! Anyone have any pointers or advice on how to at least minimize it? I know I will never be free of it. Trying though.

I think this is something most people deal with just in general. Here is a truth for you that has helped me, mostly with singing in front of people vice guitar but the same thought, if other people were better than you than let them come and play in front of everybody, the fact is not many people can play or are willing to play. So if they don’t or aren’t willing to do it in front of other people, why should you care what these same people think. You are the one putting yourself out there. Guess what also, playing in front of other guitarist players should actually be easier, because all guitar players understand you have to start somewhere and are probably going to be the least judgey out of everyone. Congratulations on doing 20 years in the military. I just retired from the Navy, 20 years this last October from the Navy as a Chief FireControlman (FCC). I was usually one of the best guitar players on board, but there were occasions were somebody was better, it was nice to have this as well, it left me with the ability to play with somebody who could help me grow. This is all about perspective and shifting it towards the positive side. You got this brother and as you can see in the community people have your back, nothing to be afraid of but people who want you to do well.
