Career question 🙋🏾‍♂️
So I’ve been trying to figure out on my own, what role should I pursue after I this school IT help desk job, and after my Net & Sec+ certifications? I asked AI and was advised either system or network admin, then from there Soc analyst, but my question is could I just make that jump from IT help desk to Soc or security analyst after earning both certs?

Tbh is it possible.? Yeah anything is possible depending on what level of skills you aquire. But you'd be up against others who are net admins, sys admins and engineers who are also applying to SOC roles for other reasons outside of career growth. You may see better results with NOC or Network analyst. If you are set on SOC then build and with open source or industry tools.

Congrats! You'll crush it. Remember it's not always about only have the right answers to the all the technical questions. Go in with solid foundations, eagerness to learn, show you are a lifelong learner, and also likeability. Most people will train someone they know they would enjoy having a part of the team.

Hey Thaoban, look for MSPs and NOC jobs. The NOC tends to have overnight positions. Great for getting in. Also alot of Data center tech roles popping up as of late due to the AI race. So plenty of opportunities
Intro
IDK if did an official intro. Been in and out of the tech industry over the years. Most of my work has been IT Support/SysAdmin/Jr Network Admin type roles. Always knew I wanted to go networking. Now I'm doubling down to go hard on Network Security thanks to the insight from @Evan Lutz
