Career question 🙋🏾‍♂️
So I’ve been trying to figure out on my own, what role should I pursue after I this school IT help desk job, and after my Net & Sec+ certifications? I asked AI and was advised either system or network admin, then from there Soc analyst, but my question is could I just make that jump from IT help desk to Soc or security analyst after earning both certs?

@Deonte Campbell Thank you 🙏🏾 yeah man I definitely want to get a Soc analyst role or other entry level cybersecurity role, I think however I might go to Net admin, then Network analyst right after
No one right way to do it
“There are no solutions, only tradeoffs.” -Thomas Sowell There’s no one right way to start your career in technology. At every point in this process, you’re trading time, energy, and money for the chance to start or improve your career. Some opt for helpdesk immediately. Benefit: fast. Cost: low paying ($20/h avg) Some opt for sys admin or network engineer. Benefit: pays better than helpdesk ($30/h avg). Cost: takes longer Some opt for a pure cybersecurity role like network security engineer. Benefit: pays the most ($90k+ annual). Cost: takes the longest. There is no one right answer. They’re all correct. Pick the one that makes sense for you, set a mission, and DONT STOP I shot for the moon and landed in 2019 in 5 months making $90k/y You can do it too Make a plan, put your head down, and get to work We have a chance for you to be ready by January if you start today Are you ALL IN on starting your career? Job Update
Hello all, this update is a day late, however I was offered the school help desk position, received the email yesterday‼️‼️ It’s a PT position paid semimonthly. While I am extremely grateful for this opportunity, I’m still looking for full time with the phone interview for a full time IT position this Friday at 3pm. So I plan on accepting the offer and if I’m offered the FT position after interviewing I’ll make the transition over. But I just wanted to share and celebrate this amazing win 🥇 ‼️‼️ LETS CONTINUE WORKING

Hello all
Hey everyone, I just a bit of an update, I’ve been continuing my network+ studies how I study 📚 goes something like: finish a lecture, take quiz and study flash cards, I then go to YouTube and watch Professor Messor video on that particular lecture I just finished. And on weekends I don’t do any new lectures I just do a mass review. The cable/cabling is pretty easy for me because I used to work for AT&T as IT/premise technician installing internet 🛜 dealing with both fiber and copper cabling and internet, routers and modems. But that’s just my personal experience or journey along with my study plan. Let’s all continue studying and ace our exams‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
Update
Hey everybody, hope you guys days are going well. I know I haven’t been posting on here as well as TikTok, had to take a step back, recently had some terrible/tragic news. But if I didn’t mention before not too sure but I got the PT school IT position and as far as the FT IT position the phone interview went well, currently waiting to hear back if I was selected to move forward in the next round. So fingers crossed, prayers lol, hopefully I get the full time position but if not I’ll take the part time (something is better than nothing). Anyway, I’m back and looking forward to continuing my journey into Cybersecurity.
