2026 has been amazing so far!
Good morning from DC everyone! Super happy to report that after 4 years in an extremely stressful position, I handed in my resignation yesterday. The amount of stress that I have been under professionally for the last several years made personal life very difficult as well. While I did not land a new remote job through this program, it is not due to the lack of amazingness from @Austin Abeyta and @Ari Dimayacyac The new job that I will be starting kinda fell into my lap over the holiday break and before my resume was even shopped through this program. Both Austin and Ari are doing amazing work for this group and I wish everyone tremendous success in 2026 and for the future. I will still be here to help or answer any questions you all may have. I believe in this program and love the solid community effort that has been formed here.

Small Win: Found a better way to compare flight prices!
I just discovered a helpful trick using Google to compare flight prices more efficiently. I found a video on YouTube that walks through it step-by-step. Check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9sHhxsGPS0 It really opened my eyes to some features I wasn’t using before. How do you find cheap flights? Please share your best tips and tools in the comments. I’d love to learn from you! Let’s help each other travel smarter 👇

Small win + interesting observation 👀⬇️
Found out something small but encouraging this week. I learned that my company doesn’t trigger alert emails when connecting to the company internet server, which was interesting to discover . A coworker from another department recently had an emergency and needed to work remotely from her home country (Morocco). Her manager was completely fine with it as long as the work got done. That told me a lot about how flexible the company can be, especially since we operate globally. I even mentioned that she technically could travel and work remotely, but she prefers to separate travel from work, which I respect. It made me realize something important: Some people have the opportunity to work fully remote Some people prefer on-site Others want fully remote like us Different lifestyles, different preferences and all are valid. Update with my manager: I brought this up during our conversation, and he shared that he plans to talk with his manager about the current business structure, which is still in progress. He was transparent that it may take some time, but the conversation is happening and that’s a win in itself.

Asked My Manager About Going Fully Remote ⬇️
I did a thing. For the past 2 years, my role required being on-site. Since then, the company has evolved with new structure, new management, and with that came more flexibility. Some teams have successfully made hybrid and remote work and it’s been working. I emailed my manager to request a discussion about going fully remote during our next one-on-one meeting. If you’ve successfully gone fully remote, what worked for you?
