Is cooking a dying art form?
I often ask myself if the younger generations are learning to cook, and I feel like they aren't. Not the way I cooked or my parents cooked, it just seems to be a lot of fast and efficient cooking, maybe take out maybe processed food. My kids know how to cook, obviously, because I've taught them, but I know that there are a lot of parents my age or a bit younger who don't cook that much and who don't teach their kids the art of preparing food. And of course that's why I created Take Out To Real Meals In 30 Days. We all appreciate food, and we create our own meals, but I hear so many young people say, "I don't know how to cook. I need to learn how to cook." I think there's a real need for some basic cooking skills in the younger generations. Today I will record the first/intro video for Take Out To Real Meals In 30 Days. I'm going to teach my daughter, Riley, how to roast a chicken. Absolutely simple process, can be prepped in under 10 minutes, and create a delicious meal with leftovers that can be repurposed into many things. Of course I wanted to do it with my son, but it's like trying to grasp smoke... He said he'd do it, but tying him down is next to impossible! So today we have the Olympian! As always, when I complete the video, I'll pop it in here so you can see what we're up to. While I'm sure most of you know how to roast a chicken, sometimes it's fun to see how other people do things. What's your favorite simple comfort food meal? Something you can create without a recipe that's always satisfying?

Wonder who asked you that question 😏 AHA! 1:40 Now I know what you mean by "present" haha. Took a while... I thought about all sorts of other things and I even just made a post in my community about someone who was supposed to PRESENT an offer during the community Action Call
Did you know this about Krista?
How incredibly valuable it is to have friends across the globe đŸ™đŸ» ✹ So... I was struggling with my client who is lacking structure with her eating habits. I needed to create a proper plan for her. I didn't know anything about the Canadian situation when it comes to food. You grow maple trees for maple syrup, what else? Then I realized that hey, I know this amazing woman @Krista Melanson who also lives in Canada and probably knows a thing or two about the availability of certain food items and such. She also gave me some good recipes I can implement for my client. Not only is Krista very easy going, approachable and humble đŸ”„ One of the many good things about Krista is that she knows about keto foods and all that entails. It is super valuable for me who is helping my client to reduce her carb intake. She gave me some valuable advice that I could implement. I had my client meeting a few hours later, it helped me out a lot having had that talk with her prior. A Canadian chef helped me out! Thanks again Krista ❀

How do you feel about lamb?
It’s funny, lamb is a bit of a thing in our family. We all loved it. Even the kids who tried to say they don’t like it, love it ha ha My dad was the OG fanatic in our family. No matter what the occasion, no matter where we were, he wanted lamb. He would often want to throw dinner parties when we were in France, and invite a number of people that we had connected with. Being a chef, trained in France, with all the beautiful ingredients at my fingertips, I always had wonderful ideas of great meals to make, and I’d have them planned out in my head and then my dad would say or we could have lamb. This was the subtle order that wasn’t to be denied. Not that I minded it was wonderful, but sometimes I just want to spread my wings a little bit and make something different. Something special. At my dad’s funeral, myself, and a couple other people stepped up to speak about him, and every one of us mentioned lamb đŸ€Ł Nowadays, the price of lamb like everything else is crept up, so it’s a rare treat, but every time we have it, it just brings back so many memories. There’s so many wonderful ways to cook it: roasted with mint sauce, roasted with Bernaise sauce, curried, stewed, grilled
The options are endless, and for the most part, they’re all wonderful! What’s something that your family loves to eat over and over again? Is there a story behind it?
