Packaging Question
I was awarded a contract for 111 lanyard pieces, each approximately 6 inches long, requiring ASTM-compliant packaging. In the photo below, the lanyard is shown in a 5" x 6" poly mil bag. My question is: is this bag size acceptable, or would a 3" x 8" or 3" x 7" bag be more appropriate to allow the lanyard to sit upright with less unused space? Note: I have the 5" X 6" already in stock, so I'm using what I have on hand.

@Sherron Finney The bag you showed looks acceptable for individual packaging. The extra space isn’t an issue as long as it’s sealed and labeled correctly. Just make sure the MIL-STD-129 label fits flat on the bag surface without wrapping over edges — sometimes the label size determines the bag size more than the part itself.
Anyone Here Submitted a SAR to DLA?
I’m trying to understand the process of submitting a Source Approval Request(SAR) with the DLA. Has anyone here gone through it? I’d love to hear about your experience—how long it took, what documents were required, and any tips on avoiding a rejection.

Hi, I’m Dean. I’m 59, recently retired, and now selling parts to the DLA — proving you’re never too old to start stressing over solicitations and delivery deadlines.
