Monotub progress
This is my first monotub after 5 days. I went a CVG substrate with no casing layer. Is it looking healthy? I noticed some discolouration which you can see in the second photo, is this something to be concerned about?

Coco Coir - what brand?
What brand of coco coir do you recommend? Does it need to be dehydrated in cubes or can you use bagged?

I assume you could use bagged but it wont be hydrated to the level you want and its expensive. Blocks from Hydroponics shop are best. Hygen is good as it has no long fibres. I have had average results from the bunnings blocks.

Mycelium growth
Hi everyone , new to growing here. This is orrisa India , I put this tub together on the 28/1/26 . Can’t believe how thick the colonisation is . Is this normal and typical for certain strains ? I’m excited to see what fruits will emerge out of this white fluffy blanket of mycelium and can’t wait to eat them 💪🏻🤣

@Davidb Foley that makes sense. That type of growth indicates it needs more air. The plate looks good to me👍

@Davidb Foley I dont think strain affects mycelium type, growing conditions are what makes a difference

I work with active mushrooms and focus on the decisions that determine success or failure. Less interference, more repeatable outcomes.
