Monotub progress
This is my first monotub after 5 days. I went a CVG substrate with no casing layer. Is it looking healthy? I noticed some discolouration which you can see in the second photo, is this something to be concerned about?

@David Rice I was reading shroomery and many said no casing layer was quicker so I decided against it
Coco Coir - what brand?
What brand of coco coir do you recommend? Does it need to be dehydrated in cubes or can you use bagged?

@David Rice ok good to know for next time. I bought a bag of Professors coco coir because it was the only option I could find without trichoderma but then realised all the recipes are for coco bricks. Does the pasteurisation kill the trichoderma? I sent my first batch of spawn to monotub on the weekend, hopefully it goes smoothly!
Colonisation
Is this bag fully colonised?

@David Rice Sorry I see what you mean. Just clean bags, break up and put into a monotub. The bacteria is not a concern so don’t need to do anything about it?

@David Rice ok. Thanks for your help!
Spawning to MT
I have 2 grain spawn bags that I want to spawn to the same monotub. I inoculated them at the same time with the same spore syringe but I accidentally put more in one bag and that bag is 100% colonised and the other bag is 75-80% colonised. Should I stall the fully colonised bag in the fridge or put both to the monotub?

The bags are 500g each

@David Rice thanks David, I’ll try that. It is my first grow so I thought smaller bags would diversify contamination risk
